Hey All
I haven't yet seen a forum for this cohort yet and I wanted to start one! Applications are due soon and wanted to see how others are going along with the process and see if theres any advice or recommendations that anyone has. This could be with the application, interviews, pre-reqs, HESI, etc. I appreciate those who comment and add to the forum!
A little about me: originally from NYC moved out to Oakland in 2015. I worked in Urgent Care, and have volunteer work during Covid-19. Finishing up a few pre-reqs now and hopefully will have them done in time for the application due date Dec 1st. Let me know if there are any other questions for me, I am very interested to see the backgrounds of others who are also applying, its a stressful but exciting time for everyone! ?
P.S. if there is a forum for the Fall 2021 ELMSN program please link it!

I paid for the yearly subscription but recently found out it’s covered through my current job so I’m hoping to hop on to getting a free account for the next year as my subscription is due to renew in April. Another app I used before Calm was Insight Timer which is completely free.
I love to bake as a way to reduce stress too but right now I’d eat a whole cake on my own while waiting ???
yes!! baking! I definitely baked a few loaves of sourdough bread (not even due to the pandemic hype) and funfetti cakes! I had to stop, I felt the diabetes creeping haha

Funny you mention the pandemic hype and bread ? I wanted to bake cinnamon rolls around the start of the pandemic and I couldn’t find yeast packets to save my life LOL. I expected the shortage of hand sanitizer, toilet paper and disinfectants but the yeast shortage cuz everyone wanted to bake bread was unexpected ?. I have yet to master baking loaves of bread. (I make a good banana bread if that counts) I mainly do cakes, pastries, and pies. Cheesecake is my favorite thing to make but it also takes me the longest. It’s all worth it in the end though ❤️

Ohh nice I love a good pastry or cake *nom*. If you want to get into bread and don't have much to go off I highly recommend the book "Flour Water Salt Yeast" by Forkish. It's literally the basics of bread and is a really good place to start, it covers soudough, white, whole wheat, pizza dough, focaccia, etc.
Hi friends! I accepted my seat for CM and got the email on the next steps. If you want to get ahead, I would recommend visiting their website and checking under the post- admission section. Also, submit a FAFSA regardless of it’s dates/deadlines!! After paying the deposit they’ll send you an email with additional steps and most of them are listed on the website already! Also, I’m wondering am I the only one moving from SoCal!? Good luck to everyone, can’t wait to meet you all.

I’m so sorry to hear that! I’m glad that this isn’t the end of your nursing career. Please continue to persevere and don’t give up and I’m sure you’ll land somewhere! It is extremely competitive. If you don’t mind me asking was this for CM?
Was anyone registered for the virtual Spring preview webinar? I had signed up for the ELMSN one that was supposed to be at 9, got two confirmation emails, but I went to log on and it doesn't exist. In my confirmation emails it even says to log on today at 9 at "this link:" and then there is no link LOL. When I go to the SMU events page, theres nothing listed for today so I guess they canceled it?
