I haven't yet seen a forum for this cohort yet and I wanted to start one! Applications are due soon and wanted to see how others are going along with the process and see if theres any advice or recommendations that anyone has. This could be with the application, interviews, pre-reqs, HESI, etc. I appreciate those who comment and add to the forum!
A little about me: originally from NYC moved out to Oakland in 2015. I worked in Urgent Care, and have volunteer work during Covid-19. Finishing up a few pre-reqs now and hopefully will have them done in time for the application due date Dec 1st. Let me know if there are any other questions for me, I am very interested to see the backgrounds of others who are also applying, its a stressful but exciting time for everyone! ?

I thought maybe they have the FNP as a group just because of the volume of applicants they get vs CM usually has less. I could be wrong it is just a guess?
Hypothesis: I think it's a mix of volume of applicants and also to see if peoples personalities match the job description? maybe? From what I've researched about a Nurse CM is that they manage and support the patient one on one vs an FNP who usually works in a collaborative setting with other clinicians.
I could be totally wrong, just a guess.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't know if people are going to share much until the interviews are over, be it their feelings, questions, topics, etc. Personally, I was anxious before the interview and now after the interview - still anxious, but now it's out of my control.
I believe so. I think they have about 24 +/- a couple of spots per semester. So, FNP gets 24 and CM gets 24 in the fall and same for the Spring.

Actually they are conducting interviews on Tuesday as well, so that’s roughly 120 interviews (but of course not all interviews are filled to capacity!)

No way! I didn't know, my email only provided dates until the 22nd, so I figured 24 applicants × the 4 days. So they opened up appointments for Tuesday the 23rd too? Alright y'all we got a 20% chance! ?????

I didn’t see the extra date either, but it was brought up during my interview today! Unless I misunderstood what she was saying.
ooo you got the inside scoop @JenforNP haha, jk. I hope it went well for you today! But I can definitely see them adding a day though, depending on how many applicants turned down the interview (if they got accepted somewhere else), then having to notify more applicants.

I did use the same answers in general and tweaked it a little bit but if I were to give you advice I would say don’t use the same answers because I didn’t get into FNP both times I applied. It might also have to do with my GPA and test scores not being as competitive as I thought but I can’t say for sure what the real reason is. LOL good luck!!
