Hello!

I didn't see a thread for the SMU absn Spring 2021 cohort so I just wanted to start one!

I'm currently in the process of applying right now and working on my personal statements!

I applied only to the San Mateo campus on both 5/1 and 7/1. For the 5/1 application I got an email saying my pre-lim was completed. I only saw that Sac campus sent out responses to that application cycle (I beleive for the 5/1 due date the start date was Sept/Nov?), no news for the San Mateo campus (which start date was pushed to January). I was told that because this start date was moved to January, SMU may be taking their time with application reviews and might be sending out responses sometime in September (hopefully!)

And for the 7/1 due date I have yet to receive an email stating they completed my prelim review, although I saw some people already did.

I hope they give us all some sort of clear communication soon!

I wanted to know how did you improve your application for 7/1? Since that was your second time applying. I just want to prepare encase I don't get accepted for the Spring '21 cohort.

Thanks for the info KMMA2RN! Did you have any in progress grades that you updated after submitting your app? That could be the reason for the delay in getting your prelim review email? I'm sure you will get it soon as they are probably just sending them out as they are getting to each app is my guess ?

I wonder if the 5/1 applications just got deferred to January? Since they aren't enrolling a new class for fall! That could explain why you received the first prelim review email but not the 2nd one since technically you are applying to the same cohort?

Have you heard back at all yet (waitlist, rejection?) from them?

For the 7/17 application I did not have any grades in progress so I thought I'd receive the prelim review email a little quicker. Bit who knows how their queue works and which apps are screened first. Hopefully I hear back in September for the 5/1 deadline and/or in October for the 7/1 deadline.

From what I heard from the webinar if you submitted an application for San Mateo 5/1 deadline it got automatically pushed back for the Spring 2021 cohort. So I think you basically submitted 2 applications for Spring 2021 start.

The Sacramento campus is proceeding with the November cohort, however the November cohort for San Mateo was cancelled and all applications sent in for that deadline were automatically added into the 7/1 deadline. Hope this clears up some things!

I haven't received my prelim review email yet and the suspense is killing me!

Hello!

Has anyone attempted to apply for the Summer cohort 2021 on NursingCas? I cannot find the application on SMU's website either. I read that the application for Summer opened in August, so I was assuming it would be available by now but I guess not. Has anyone else had this issue?

Also, I applied to the Spring 2021 cohort for the 7/1 deadline and received my preliminary review email pretty soon after. Not sure why they have delayed others.

The Summer 2021 application is already up. I transferred all my stuff to the new application, just encase. Make sure when you go to the NursingCAS website you are logging in on the right cycle. Here's the link.

I just received the preliminary review email and I submitted my application 1-2 days before the 7/1 deadline!

I wonder what their formula to doing this is. I submitted mine about 10 days before the deadline and have yet to get an update.
