Hello!

I didn't see a thread for the SMU absn Spring 2021 cohort so I just wanted to start one!

I'm currently in the process of applying right now and working on my personal statements!

Hope you are all staying safe during this crazy time!

I got the same email on 8/13! This is my first time applying too so I'm not sure exactly what the "preliminary review" is but I'm hoping for the best!

Same here, I hope that's a good sign but it might just be part of the process. ? Which program are you applying to?

Same, I am so ready to be done waiting! I think we still have a couple months though. I applied to San Mateo ABSN. What about you?

Yes the wait is nerve wrecking! Yeah I've looked at previous posts and it seems until mid October we might get notified. If I don't get in, I plan to apply to the Summer program. I've seen some people applied 3x so I am planning ahead just encase. Same here, it's pretty close to where I live. Good luck!

Yeah, I'm originally from Oakland but I moved to sac for undergrad, so I'm applying for the sac location.

Hi there! I applied to the Spring 2021 ABSN cohort too. Did you guys apply to just one campus or to both? I put San Mateo as my first choice, and Sac as my second, and was wondering how many other people did that!

Hello everyone! I applied to the San Mateo campus. I noticed some people got a preliminary review email but I haven't received that email yet, which is worrying me now... But I did get the initial email that they received my application.

Did you have to submit any grades that were in progress? That might be why.. as I was looking at threads from previous year's cohorts, and it does seem like people have been receiving that e-mail on different dates!

Hi all,

This is my second application submitted (7/1). I also submitted on 5/1. So far for 5/1, SMU has only sent Sacramento Campus letters od regret/acceptance as they are still set to start in Novemeber. I believe the San Mateo campus has not received anything yet as that start date was pushed to January - can anyone confirm this?

Also, for my 7/1 application - I have yet to receive an email saying that my prelim. review was completed. However, my 5/1 application I did receive it already. Anyone else have this issue?

It's so hard to keep up with the appropriate allnurses thread for the 5/1 San Mateo cohort because I'm not sure if it's considered Fall 2020 still or Spring 2021 as the start date got pushed to January.

Hi KMMA2RN,

Did you apply to both campuses for the 7/1 application?

Also, did they say that the Sac campus is starting in November? For some reason, I was under the impression that the Sac cohort starts in September! Have you heard back for the Sac cohort? or are you still waiting to hear? Hope you get good news soon! Originally, I wanted to apply for the Fall cohort at San Mateo, but then saw that it was pushed back to Jan, but turns out the Jan start works better with my time frame. I did get the prelim email already!

It's nice to connect with others who are in the same boat, crazy times with covid! haha
