Hello!

I didn't see a thread for the SMU absn Spring 2021 cohort so I just wanted to start one!

I'm currently in the process of applying right now and working on my personal statements!

Hope you are all staying safe during this crazy time!

Hello! Anyone wanna share stats!

First degree was health education - community based public health emphasis!

3.5 GPA, 3.75 science GPA

Also work for a charity foundation and just went on a medical mission a couple months ago!

How are you all doing on your personal statements? I’ve written down all my thoughts and just need to structure it but just anxious about it!

The 90k is obviously a hefty amount, plus the loans I have for my first degree, but I’m just going to hope it’ll all be worth it. There’s only two programs in California that are 12 month programs and they’re both the same price. I also have talked to numerous SMU students who love the school, love the teachers, love the curriculum, and it has all convinced me that it’ll be worth it!

How do you feel about it?

Hm, I'm really iffy since I already have other loans too! I am nervous about being in more debt. And then I wouldn't be working for a year which means I lose already my FT salary too! Then comes the prospect of that I may not find a job afterwards! But this school is the only school near where I live and may commute. I also do not want to spend years on a waitlist.

Did the students say why its worth it and how about job hunting? Any other info?

Oh out of curiosity which other school is 12 months?

And then what if I fail out D:.

Hello djpa2,

OMG?!! My first degree was exactly the same as yours. Did you graduate from SFSU?

I just completed my personal statements! I am worried about the transcript review now. I am afraid I accidentally put something wrong in...

OMG yes! When did you graduate?!

And nice! I know, inputting the transcript info was so tedious
