What waitlist # were you for Oakland, if I may ask

Honestly, can’t really say. I was denied last Spring from San Mateo, was waitlisted this time around for Oakland, and got in on pure chance I guess! The only difference between the two applications is that I took the TEAS. After applying for these last two app cycles I’ve just figured it’s a hit or miss haha. People with exemplary grades and lots of experience are getting denied and others with slightly lower grades and no medical experience, but lots of experience in another field, are getting accepted. So I’m sure they really take into account your LORs and personal statements at both campuses. These were my stats this app. 3.8 GPA for both last 60 units and sciences 91% overall on the TEAS with math and science over 96% 3+ years as a MA for a private family practice Assistant coordinator for a medical charity and managed 2 medical missions to the Philippines Internship with UCSF and their Breast Health Network Current Stanford employee working in dermatology surgery My LORs came from a nurse, a teacher/head advisor from my undergrad, and a doctor. Like I said. I think it’s just a hit or miss. I was knocking myself down for awhile because I’ve been working so hard to get into this school but it’s just so random that I’ve just realized I can’t take it to heart. This was a lot but hope this helped some people!

I also got into the Oakland campus this morning and I was 6th! Yay!

For those of you who got accepted, congrats!! Can anyone share when your letter of intent is due? Just to get an idea of when we can maybe see movement in the waitlist!

Oh that’s promising! Thank you! And thank you to you as well as everyone else showing support! I guess I’m just frustrated after the long anticipation for decisions. Just wish Oakland took more than 1 cohort a year!

Oops I’m actually 6th on the waitlist, my mistake for putting 7! And no I was denied for the Spring. ? But also, Oakland applications are only once a year, so I would assume we wouldn’t be prioritized for the upcoming San Mateo application.

7! I know the waitlist doesn’t usually move that far but I’ll just keep hoping! It’s my second time applying and I’m kind of just bummed as I don’t know what else I can do to make my 3rd application more competitive.

Just got a waitlist email for Oakland. Ahhh. Excited but not? Have mixed feelings about it...feeling discouraged honestly. Hoping the waitlist moves!

Yes! I haven’t taken a class there and I’m still able to see my status! If you sign onto the admitted portal it should bring you to a homepage with a button on the bottom right with three lines. If you press that then choose checklist and scroll down it’ll say the status of your application! Mine still says under review but in the past the portal usually updates before you get an email acceptance. It looks a little different on laptop setting but I’ll attach pics on how it looks like on the phone setting!

Can anyone confirm that they received this email and has Oakland as their first choice?

To what I understand they only sent April offers to waitlist applicants from the last application season!
