Samuel Merritt University ABSN Spring 2021

Published

Hello!

I didn't see a thread for the SMU absn Spring 2021 cohort so I just wanted to start one!

I'm currently in the process of applying right now and working on my personal statements!

Hope you are all staying safe during this crazy time!

OK! Thank you for sharing. Congrats again!

Thank you for telling me about your cousin. That definitely gives me hope.

Congratulations to everyone who got accepted! Such exciting news for y’all!!
I’m also waitlisted (24) for the Sac campus which was my primary and only. I guess I’ll now be studying for the TEAS and reapply for Summer! Good luck to everyone

I’m number 10. So technically I guess I’m 8??‍♀️

I think you will definitely get in! Those are great odds. ??

Hi all,

Waitlisted for Sac as well. It's a little hard not to get discouraged given how dang competitive this program and similar ones are. Have people had luck with reapplying? Does this offer some kind of advantage? Not sure I want to re-apply with basically the same application :/

Currently waitlisted as well. Not sure if I should take the TEAS or HESI. Any thoughts?

I’ve heard HESI is easier, however most other schools require the TEAS. So it depends... if you are applying to other programs go with the TEAS.

Gotcha! That helps! Thank you!

Does any one know how many were accepted in Sacramento?

Does anyone know how many were accepted for Sacramento cohort? I am waiting to hear from San Mateo but am curious what the cohort size was in Sac. Someone may have already answered this ??‍♀️

Sorry — didn’t mean to post twice!!

Hi everyone!

I'm new to this thread and I just wanted to share my stats to show that you don't always need the best GPA to get in. I got my acceptance letter this morning! My overall GPA was 3.06, last 60 unit GPA was about a 3.3, and my science GPA was around 3.4. I honestly didn't think I would get in with my grades. I have about 120 hours of volunteering in a clinic and hospital setting and have worked in a medical research lab. Not sure if my volunteer experience is what boosted my application but just wanted to give hope to those with lower GPAs.

Is anyone planning to reapply for the Summer application (Dec 1st deadline)? I wanted to start the application process asap, but for some reason I'm having a hard time finding it on nursingCAS. Anyone else have this issue or is it just me? LOL.
