Hello!
I didn't see a thread for the SMU absn Spring 2021 cohort so I just wanted to start one!
I'm currently in the process of applying right now and working on my personal statements!
Hope you are all staying safe during this crazy time!

Log out of NursingCAS. When you are back at the home screen, you will see a link on the left side for the link to the 2021-2022 application cycle! The one we filed for this cycle is considered 2020-2021. Hope this helps!

I'm new to this thread and I just wanted to share my stats to show that you don't always need the best GPA to get in. I got my acceptance letter this morning! My overall GPA was 3.06, last 60 unit GPA was about a 3.3, and my science GPA was around 3.4. I honestly didn't think I would get in with my grades. I have about 120 hours of volunteering in a clinic and hospital setting and have worked in a medical research lab. Not sure if my volunteer experience is what boosted my application but just wanted to give hope to those with lower GPAs.
Thank you this helps! I have a 3.8 and no volunteer experience and I am waitlisted.

Same here! My previous bachelors’ GPA was a 2.97, but my prereqs were all As and Bs. My science GPA is 3.3 and my last 60 is around 3.7. I didn’t think I would get in because of my GPA but I think that my work experience (3 years in assisted living) and my letters of recommendation really boosted my application. Please keep applying if you didn’t get in!

First they look at science prereqs and then the rest.
Do you know how much they take into account for medical experience vs GPA? I have quite a bit of medical experience, hoping that will boost me.
and congratulations!
