Hello!
I didn't see a thread for the SMU absn Spring 2021 cohort so I just wanted to start one!
I'm currently in the process of applying right now and working on my personal statements!
Hope you are all staying safe during this crazy time!

I can only imagine how stressful it is for their admissions office and for the app reviewers having to not only review but constantly answer the same email over & over from diff ppl...
Well, yall can stress out if u want to but I'm gonna go ahead & just apply for the December 1st deadline for the Summer 2021. I refuse to blow up somebody's email asking when decisions will be going out for a cohort that prob will be harder to get in because increase # of apps & bcuz of them having to delay cohorts (especially when COVID-19 is the reason...c'mon EVERYONE keep perspective...some ppl have died and/or lost their livelihood & we're on here fuming and stressing over a delay in admissions decisions).
**update...
OK....wow, I never "bashed" anyone or said anyone was less than anyone ? didn't realize so many folks would take it so personal when I was just making a general statement of how bombarding admissions w/ emails prob won't make anything happen any faster and just seems a little entitled to me personally. That's just me though...
woo-sah people, woo-sah ? ✌️
Jan 2021 would be nice, but here's hoping for April, May or June 2021???
I understand where you’re coming from but I think we should refrain from negative tone!
SMU is an amazing school and their counselors/coordinators are more than happy to help us in any way. I personally haven’t emailed them but my point of contact assured me I can reach out to her with any questions/concerns because she understands the rush of emotions we’re experiencing!
It’s not entitling to be anxious, especially if you’re being respectful. It’s a bit condescending to say we aren’t being sensitive of those affected by covid. We’re applying to become nurses for a reason. I have a friend who applied and is directly affected by covid and heavily relies on this decision. She needs to know if she needs to move back home (across the country), find a job, and financially and emotionally support her family, or, stay here if she gets accepted.
Like I said, I definitely understand where you’re coming from, but I think you need to see where others are coming from as well. Way more than just impatient folks bombarding them just for the heck of it!

I’m wondering if they send out admission decisions during the end of the week at all? Maybe they only do Monday - Wed? What do u think?
I’m a stalker and looked at the past cohorts on here and some ppl said they got it early Friday and some got it Saturday!

No one asked you to blow up admissions email. But don’t bash the people that have decided to do so. It does not make them any less than you.
