Hello everyone!

I just wanted to start a thread for the Spring 2021 term at SMU. Has anyone applied or planning on applying? Feel free to drop your stats and scores!

I got it ?

Its interesting that it took them extra time to get phase 1 done. From the outside looking in it seems as if phase 2 should take longer because they actually have to read our essays and other stuff.. its a bit worrisome. I hope we get decisions on time.

I received my prelim email that my app has moved on to phase 2 as well. What a relief! I had assumed that all the applicants moved on to phase 2 for review but I assume it could be possible some did not.

Hi y'all, was this preliminary email that you guys received looked anything similar to this that I received back in May when I sent in the updated coursework grade/transcript after the Fall Deadline? If not, can anyone post a transcript of their preliminary email? Thank you so much!

Yes, everyone who received the preliminary review email (meaning they meet the prerequisites) should have received the phase 2 email.

Hi Dominique, 

Becuase you applied to the ABSN your timeline and correspondence will be different than ours. I think there’s an ABSN thread for Spring 2021 that could be more useful for you.

In case you were still interested, the email said: 

The Admission Office has completed its preliminary review. Thank you for your interest in Samuel Merritt University. This email confirms that we have completed our preliminary review of your application(s). If you used AP credit to fulfill any prerequisites, please note that you will need to provide an official, sealed AP score report, reflecting scores of 3 or better, if you are admitted.  Email is the official method of communication. If you are expecting an email from us please check your spam and junk folders before calling. Throughout the application process you will receive notifications and updates when they are appropriate. Please refrain from calling the admission office as this slows the application review timeline.

Hi Dominique,

I also applied to the ABSN program and I received my prelim email a while back. Mine was pretty simple like the one someone previously posted on here. Maybe is because I had everything completed and have just 1 class in progress. Here's the forum for the ABSN Spring '21 program because I believe the timelines are different than the BSN.
