Hey everyone- I thought it was time to start a new thread for the up and coming applicant pool for the ELMSN Sacramento cohort 2011. Five months until applications are due and it doesn't hurt to start communicating with one another already. I met with the admissions counselor last week and she gave me many pointers on how to strengthen my application. Can't wait to hear from some others out there who will be in it with me for the remainder of the year hoping to get into SMU.

I know that Rush University in Chicago has a GEM program that is 21 months long and they are on NursingCAS. Applications are due Nov. 1st

Has anyone heard anything about the FNP waitlist? I'm hoping some of us will be getting news today!

So far, nothing! I was in the 3rd interview group and they didn't really say anything significant about today. They just said some would get early admit within the next few days then the rest would receive letters....so idk..

From rereading the e-mail sent on the 4th, it sounds like they were planning on making final decisions by today, but it doesn't say anything about when they would notify us. I suppose that could take some time, depending on whether they call or email. I'll just remain hopeful unless I hear otherwise.

Considering there are so many on allnurses waiting for a reply from SMU for FNP we can assume that one of you (probably more) has got to be accepted or at least waitlisted (last years thread had at least 6 of us who were waitlisted). I think maia is right that the letter says they would be making final decisions by today, but calls/emails might not necessarily come today. It would be nice if they let you know before the weekend though!

thanks you guys for remaining so positive about the whole situation. reading all these responses on allnurses makes me feel hopeful! i was in the last interview for the FNP program and i still havent heard anything yet either. i check my phone and emails religiously and still nothing! :( so i guess we are all in the same boat waiting....

No one else on here hearing from the CM program, or even applying to that program? Also, I want to start a thread for those of us interested in applying to other schools, but I don't know how to do it on this site! Hah, imagine that!

Calls are going out! LO just called me and informed me that I'm on the waitlist. I'm not very low, so I doubt I will make it off the waitlist, but I'm trying to remain optimistic...

Well the good news is you were not rejected, and if you reapply the next time around they remember you! Obviously you are a qualified applicant, there just isn't enough spots...be optimistic. I'm right with you on this! Did you apply to the CM program as well?
