Samuel Merritt ELMSN Sacramento 2011

Published

Hey everyone- I thought it was time to start a new thread for the up and coming applicant pool for the ELMSN Sacramento cohort 2011. Five months until applications are due and it doesn't hurt to start communicating with one another already. I met with the admissions counselor last week and she gave me many pointers on how to strengthen my application. Can't wait to hear from some others out there who will be in it with me for the remainder of the year hoping to get into SMU.

For those of you who are reapplicants this year, and were on the waitlist last year, what number were you? Do you know how many people on the waitlist ended up making it into the program last year?

I was #8 last year and ended up #3 so they took in five.

Congrats to all of you who will be starting in January! After reading everyone's post, I thought I'd update those waiting on what I know. I got a call on Monday afternoon that I had been wait listed for the ELMSN-CM program. I was told that they filled the 20 spots, and the wait list was as large as it has ever been. My chance of getting in will depend on those who were accepted into both ELMSN programs choosing the FNP route, and those who applied to the ASBSN program that might go that direction. Either way, I feel pretty good about making it this far, and I'm too going to be looking at other options as well as how I can strengthen my application next time around. Anyone else on the wait list, or accepted into the CM program? It seems like most people in this forum are starting the FNP degree.

Do you know what number on the waitlist you are?

Does anyone know if the FNP applicants will be notified by Friday either way, accepted or not?

That's what LO's email said that we received on Sept. 4th. Acceptance/waitlist will be called or notified by Sept. 17th and rejections will be sent a letter.

Has anyone heard anything new since Monday?

Only that on Monday not all of the decisions had been made yet

I am 11 on the wait list. My chances seem pretty slim at this point, although ------- did say that the wait list is unpredictable. Good luck everyone!

Well good luck to you!

Thanks! Perhaps those of us who might have to look into Plan B for the entry-level MSN programs should begin another thread to discuss other schools, and/or options? I'm going for every option possible.

Yes, that sounds like a good idea for a thread!!
