I'm new to this site, but have been following the allnurses posts regarding Samuel Merritt program applications religiously for a while now. I recently applied to the ABSN and ELMSN - FNP program for the July 1 deadline. Thought it would be great to have a place to provide insight, stay updated and share experiences with all of you through this terrifying journey. I mean we ONLYYY have to wait until October - November to hear anything. Let the wait begin.....
My understanding is that they are looking at courses upon submission of the application. Accorinding to the what I was told and the website "Although it is acceptable to have courses planned or in progress at the time of application, it is in the students' best interest to have as many courses completed as possible at the time of application." so they are looking mostly at what you sent in before the July 1 deadline. That's likely why some people are hearing that transcripts will be requested if you get in and that nursing cas isn't really updating them quickly.
First time applying to the ELMSN program in Sac; turned in my application a few days before deadline and received my confirmation for the next phase review process on 7/24.
I emailed Katharine Leyva when I'll be hearing back and this was her response "If selected for an interview you will hear back most likely in September. If you are admitted or not you will hear back in early October".

There is a separate thread for those who applied to the ELMSN program. You might get better responses on that program there. :)
I also applied to the San Mateo ABSN Spring 2019 cohort. I applied for the same cohort last year and did not get in. I have since improved my application and am really hoping to get accepted this time around. I just wanted to let you all know that I received my rejection letter last year on October 20th....so....decisions seem to take a while. The wait is LONG.
Thanks to everyone who gave me advice on how to study for the HESI A2! I actually haven't scheduled my test yet, but was just about to schedule it on prometrics.
I know this could be an extremely stupid question, but for the appointment selection, which am I supposed to select? Is it just Admissions Assessment?
Did everyone else have a change to their NursingCAS App? I logged in today and I guess it's a new application cycle and none of the schools I applied to previously are available to see.
Yes, it changed to the 2018-9 application. However, if you look on the left side of the NursingCAS login screen, there is a link to access the 2017-8 submitted apps.
Hi all! The ELMSN programs already released their interview applicants which was a lot sooner than they did previous years, so maybe we will find out a little sooner than expected!

Last application period, they sent out emails saying "your application has been forwarded for faculty review" or something a few weeks to a month before decisions were released. Hopefully those will be coming out soon!

I will probably send them electronically. I'm just hoping they evaluate them in time so it shows I finished my prerequisites.
