I'm new to this site, but have been following the allnurses posts regarding Samuel Merritt program applications religiously for a while now. I recently applied to the ABSN and ELMSN - FNP program for the July 1 deadline. Thought it would be great to have a place to provide insight, stay updated and share experiences with all of you through this terrifying journey. I mean we ONLYYY have to wait until October - November to hear anything. Let the wait begin.....
My hope is they put that up there to deter people from asking any sooner. It is very possible we will hear back sooner, like the previous cohorts have. They didn't extend our deadline... so fingers crossed! Having more notice to plan the next year of our lives would be very helpful! Although they could tell me the day before and I'd show up! HA!

Thats great CVnursing! I know that interviews for ELMSN candidates were about 4 weeks prior to acceptances/rejections for previous cohorts. (I'm sure everyone has read through the previous threads!)
It seems like the fall ABSN cohort hears back sooner on decisions because the fall ELMSN applicants hear back by February. Since the ABSN applications aren't submitted until April, there is no overlap and they can likely get through the applications quicker. Based on prior application cycles for Spring, they tend to release all admission decisions at the same time so we will hear around the same time as the ELMSN applicants. Unfortunately there are interviews as far out at September 26th for ELSMN applicants so we will likely not hear back until October at the earliest. I hope we hear earlier but based on what I have seen, it's not likely.

That's good insight on our timeline. I know none of us want to wait until October, but I appreciate you letting us know what the timeframe for the ELMSN interviews are. Good luck to everyone who is interviewing!!
I hear ya Boogalooga! I've been stalking the past absn (spring 2018) posts to follow the timeline for their cohort, along with the ELMSN for that same cohort, and based on what their dates were and their acceptance/rejection notifications, coupled with the ELMSN interview dates, I saw this pattern:
ELMSN interviews concluded 9/28 and those candidates were notified within 3-4 calendar dates.
The ABSN candidates were notified 7 days after the ELMSN first notifications went out.
Based on that, you can look at this year's ELMSN candidates and their interview dates. They seem to have 9/26 as the final date for interviews (at least from what I have seen). That would put their notifications at October 1 (possibly sooner since the interviews end on a Wednesday rather than a Thursday...), and that puts our notifications somewhere around the 8th.
Fingers crossed, that would be 3 full weeks from this coming Monday.
Sorry for the analytics. I'm having to do something to put a target date for myself because the open-ended thing is just driving me nuts.
If there are any ELMSN candidates that have already interviewed, pop on here and let us know how it went! I'm crossing my fingers for you guys!! Hang in there everyone. It's tough, but it's nice to have people to commiserate with!
