Samuel Merritt ABSN 2010 San Mateo

Published

Hi all,

I noticed threads for other Samuel Merritt campuses and semesters but not the ABSN program that starts January 2010 in San Mateo. I was a little discouraged to read all of the frustrations of the San Francisco campus for fall. San Mateo is my #1 choice and it was only between that and Sac for winter semester. I'm wondering if there is anyone else who applied for 2010 in either campus. From what I gathered from other posts it takes about 3-4 months to get a reply? Its gonna be a looong wait! Who's waiting with me?

Do you think it will be very impacted?

With Regards..

Does anybody know how many people were accepted off the wait list for the San Mateo cohort for January '09? June '09?

I got a reclassification form from SMU since i am on the wait list. It pretty much means that i can forward my application for the April, May, and 2010 cohorts that's coming up. On the form it asks me to indicate my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice of the three...All i want is to be in A program, so I basically just put it in order of which schools start first. Does anyone know if this form really puts me in the pool for all three reguardless of what order i choose? And does anyone know for sure that being on the waitlist for one program REALLY means that ill get accepted into the next program coming up? Since the last program i applied to was San Mateo, the staff that makes the selection is going to be different for other campuses, and in this case persistence wont really matter since they wont know you.

Wait list update: I just got a call and i was number 2 on the wait list, sooooo, number 3 is on deck!

Congrats!

Hello all,

I was #3 on the waitlist and got the call this morning!! So exciting. Good luck to everyone!

Congrats to those that have been picked from the wait list....I started at 24...so i guess my new sequence # is 21...HA!!!!! I Love my new odds!!!...I don't understand why those who applied, got in, applied in the first place if they were just going to decline it!..What a waste of time for the staff reviewing the applications, as well the potential students who initially wanted to get in but got either wait listed or rejected....In order for me to even afford to do this program, i have to get a student loan...I would much rather get all of that settled right away rather than wait to get accepted the day before the program starts, and rush that whole process...

I was accepted into the san mateo absn program and I wanted to let all the waitlisters out there know that I am declining their offer and everyone will be moving up on the waitlist.I have not yet submitted my decline letter but will do so shortly. The decision is final. I have been accepted to the elmsn-fnp program and will be going to sacramento. I know how stressful it is to be on the waitlist so I wanted to give you a heads up. Good luck everyone.

I just read your post handsomdave. Many people apply to more than one program since there is no guarantee of getting into any of them. I don't think anyone that applied knew that they were going to be turning down the offer and had the intent of purposely stressing out the admissions staff or other students applying to the program. Furthermore, there are many life circumstances that can change between the the time someone turns in an application and receives a response.

I also got an acceptance call today! I was rejected for the summer session so I am so happy I finally got in. Can't wait until January!!

Congrats on getting accepted! I know a while back you posted that you had applied to Saddleback's nursing program...did you get accepted there as well? I was interested in hearing about what happened to your application with Saddleback since we had similar grades. Thanks!

Hey everyone! Just letting those on the waitlist know that I was #4 and got my acceptance call on Friday afternoon...you're all moving up! Hope to see you in January!! :-)

hey jen....I was wondering if you knew you were number four before you received the acceptance call, or did they inform you of your wait-list number when they called you...?

Yes I knew at the beginning of October. They made some serious errors with my application and had to put me in the waitlist after everyone was notified. She told me last week that I moved up to 3 and then I got the call on Friday. Letters of intent and deposits were due for accepted students on the 30th, so I guess it took them a week to process that stuff and figure out how many to call. I don't know if they still have more people to call at this point or not. Hope this helps!
