Thanks for the response! I just calculated my points based on your system and I was curious what a competitive score might be. I came up with 29 out of 52... that seems low to me.
  2. Anyone applying at Saddleback college?

Ummm if being male helps you get into nursing school, then I smell a lawsuit. Can't do that in a public school system. Equal opportunity.
  3. Anyone applying at Saddleback college?

All I heard was that anything under 15 pts is prob lottery. And realistically, someone with 15 points could have 2 A's one B and a 3.99 gpa!!!! Soooo competitive!!!!
  4. Anyone applying at Saddleback college?

Total points is 18.. English is not counted in the equation. 5 points for each A in micro, physio, anatomy. 3 points for a B. 3 points for a 4.0, 2 points for a 3.5-3.99. I'm not sure of grades lower than a B or gpa's below a 3.5... if that is you...
  5. Anyone applying at Saddleback college?

I'm no admission counselor, but its safe to say you are in. I called them over the summer and they said that people with a "16 and above basically walk right in". I'm at 16... the typical cutoff... super nervous. If we dont get in, the application p...

I should also add, if you were "rounding" your gpa in your question... you may actually have less points. I think I remember seeing that a 3.0-3.499 is 1 point.... but you'd still have 16 points and thats still very good :)
  7. Anyone applying at Saddleback college?

You mentioned you have a 4.0 in bio. What does that mean? If you have a 4.0 in all three bio classes (anatomy, physiology, and microbiology) and you have a 3.5 overall gpa, you have a pretty good chance at walking right into the program. Your 4.0 ...
  8. Anyone applying at Saddleback college?

We have exactly the same grades and gpa! When I called I was told that typically people with 16-18 points "get right in" ...so if you so much as have one B, then you're kinda screwed. She also said that "it varies" every semester based on the pool o...

Congrats on getting accepted! I know a while back you posted that you had applied to Saddleback's nursing program...did you get accepted there as well? I was interested in hearing about what happened to your application with Saddleback since we had...
  10. Anyone applying at Saddleback college?

I know this is a very old thread...but I just wanted to know what happened with all you Saddleback hopefuls. I will be applying in February 2010 for the Fall 2010 semester. I will end up with 15 or 16 points (I have 1 B in my prereqs). I was curio...

Hey there... Did you get into Saddleback? I'm anxious to hear the outcome since it sounds like we have similar grades. I'm hoping you did!! :) Thanks!
  12. West Coast University vs. Saddleback Jr. College

Thanks for writing back!!! Please keep us posted... I plan on applying for the Fall 2010 program in February! I agree...nursing school is sooo competitive...I feel like a big loser b/c I have 1 B. What?!?!?
  13. Hello AAnderson, Forgive me, but I'm kind of confused. You got right into Saddleback's program with 2 C's and 1 A in the science prereqs? If so I'm super happy! Based on their point system, you would've had 9 points out of 18 (based on those 3 gra...
  14. West Coast University vs. Saddleback Jr. College

Hey scns1733, Did you get into Saddleback? I have the same grades as you (2 A's and 1 B) in my prereqs. My gpa is a 3.9. Based on Saddleback's point system (since they no longer have a wait list) that gives me 15 points. I called the school's nurs...
