Salary for new nurse in St. Louis

U.S.A. Missouri

Published

Can anybody give me an idea of what a starting nurses salary might be coming out of school in the St Louis area? Any help is appreciated.

bookluvr2,

Could you please P.M. me also with that information. I will be graduating in May and could use the info. Thanks Leesa:heartbeat

PM'd you both with info. Please note that I have been told that they will pay slightly higher for prior PCT or LPN experience if a Graduate Nurse has this.(Also great benefits!).

Specializes in Emergency.

Could you PM me the info as well? I greatly appreciate it! :) THANKS!!

Could you PM with the information, too? I'm going to graduate with my BSN in May 2009, and I'm starting to apply and interview now.

Thanks!

I'm hoping to do my clinicals at the new St. Clare Hospital in Fenton that is replacing St. Joe's in Kirkwood. It's brand new and state-of-the-art! So it's a possibility I'll try to do one of the summer student nursing internships they offer next summer, and possibly try to get a job there when I graduate, so that's useful info about SSM!

Specializes in Med/Surg <1; Epic Certified <1.

I did an internship with SSM several summers ago while I was in school between 2nd & 3rd semester. I will highly recommend that if your life/schedule allows you to do so, that you do your best to obtain one of those! It's a great way to make a little money while you're in school and the experience was terrific for me. I stayed on prn for a short time as a tech which is also a great way to have your foot in that door! I recently toured some of the new St. Clare facility and it is absolutely gorgeous! It looks like a fabulous place to work! Best wishes!! And good luck in school! :icon_hug:

Hospicemom? Where do you live?? I'm in WI too and would love to relocate to where you are as no one here wants to hire a new grad.....even with some experience and certification as a pharm. tech to boot!!! Grrrrr!!!

I am on the job hunt as well, here is what I've got for you:

For an RN, BSN-

St. John's= 19.60

All SSM hospitals (St. Joes, St. Mary's, DePaul, St.Clare, etc...) 19.30

Barnes (and I'm assuming also MoBap) 20.00

This is base salary for a GN, and each hospital offers a differential for nights and weekends

Good luck finding a job!

St. John's starts GN out around 19.40 an hour with a .50 an hour difference with a BA.

This post is pretty old.

What's the word now? About $20 an hour?

Thanks!!

About $20 an hour, about a 0.60 for BSN I think. Previous CNA experience may call for an extra 0.50 in base pay.

Specializes in Med/Surg/Bariatrics.

As a recent grad I found a job that started at $19.62/hour plus $2.50 evening diff and $3 for night and I'm on nights so I make $22.62.
