Hey guys,I didn't see a thread yet for the spring '17 program so I figured I'd start one. CSU nursing programs are more competitive than ever, so let's try to help each other through this extremely nerve-wracking process!
The School of Nursing at Folsom Hall is having an open house tomorrow from 2-6 for anyone interested. There will be current students there to advise and answer questions, as well as tours of the simulation labs. Hope to see some of you there.
Did you get in last semester? If so, how has it been?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it was my understanding that there is an integration of pharmacology throughout the program. Therefore, it's not a prerequisite nor a co-requisite.
That's what I originally thought but then noticed on the website that it says Nurs 14 is required before second semester. Now I'm not sure.
Hi Everyone,
First of all, good luck to everyone who's applying and put their self in the position to apply. I am also applying for Spring '17 but with only 77 points. The suspense is killing me because I don't know the ranking of the alternate numbers & pretty much depending on the waitlist to get in

I also wonder this. According to the 12-14 catalog, "Pharmacology must be completed prior to or concurrent with the first semester nursing courses." However, this sentence is nonexistent in the 15-16 catalog. Does that mean we're not required to take NURS 14 (Pharmacology) anymore, since it's integrated into the curriculum?

I don't think we need a separate class. After searching around after Spring 2014 think it was no longer required.

I am in my third semester and will be graduating in the Spring next year. I have no regrets about going to nursing school here at Sacramento State. It's an accelerated program in the sense that it's two years compared to two and a half or three years at other schools, so it's unlike anything most students will have experienced before. Regarding pharmacology, although it's not a prerequisite anymore, I recommend taking a pharmacology class if given the chance because I've noticed that questions students struggle with often tend to be drug related questions. Just an observation. I'm glad to answer any specific questions you have.

I think I will probably go. I will be on campus anyway.
