Nursing Students School Programs
Published Aug 27, 2016
Hey guys,I didn't see a thread yet for the spring '17 program so I figured I'd start one. CSU nursing programs are more competitive than ever, so let's try to help each other through this extremely nerve-wracking process!

5 more days! Good luck everyone!
Keen Observer,
Was there anything you wish you had done leading up to the start of nursing school? Like anything you wish you reviewed or had prepared for?

Good question.
The only thing I wish I had done differently would have been to have taken a pharmacology class beforehand. Pharm is integrated into the curriculum, but having taken it before would have lessened the learning curve.
I recommend buying and reading as much of the book linked below as you can beforehand. It does a great job of dumbing down pathophysiology which you'll be learning in great detail starting in first semester. It's a great book for easing the transition from your pre-req sciences to clinical practice.

Other than that, take time for yourself. You're going to be busy :)

Congrats everyone! I was accepted as well. I'm excited to meet you all. And thank you @Keen Observer for the patho book recommendation. I picked it up earlier this week and could have definitely used its simplistic explanations to better comprehend some concepts in physio.
I'm looking over the course schedule trying to plan for January, and I was wondering if anyone knew what Nursing 21 is? Is that a class we have to take, or do we just take Nurse 111, 112, and 113?
Also, does anyone have an idea of what hours we'll be in class during "frontloading", and how many days/weeks of frontloading there might be?
Thanks!
