Nursing Students School Programs
Published Aug 27, 2016
Hey guys,I didn't see a thread yet for the spring '17 program so I figured I'd start one. CSU nursing programs are more competitive than ever, so let's try to help each other through this extremely nerve-wracking process!

Hi everyone! I applied to the Spring '17 semester at Sac State.
I think I'm at 88 points (42 points for GPA, 40 points for the TEAS, and hopefully 6 points for extra criteria). Sac State is the only place I applied, since Samuel Merritt is beyond unaffordable and I'm tied to the greater Sacramento area for now.
It's so nerve-racking knowing that we won't know the final decision for another few weeks. Sending good luck vibes to everyone here!!!

Nice! Is that your first choice?
Yes. I got an interview invite for SF State as well and debating whether to attend.

The update is out! It sounds like the cutoff will be 76-77.

Email went out today!
We received over 280 applications for 80 seats. Based on unverified, student-reported data, the applicant ranked number 80 has 79 points—the applicant ranked 127 has 74 points. We anticipate the final cut-score will be lower when we have completed the evaluation and Intent to Enroll process, but we regret it may be higher than previous spring terms, http://www.csus.edu/hhs/nrs/programs/undergraduate/traditional/docs/app_pool_stat_8-31-16.pdf.
Admission decisions will be emailed as follows:
Candidates ranked 1-127 will be notified Friday, November 18 after 5 p.m.
Candidates ranked 128 or higher, based on student-reported data, will be notified Tuesday, November 1 after 5 p.m.
(a final cutoff of 77 seems likely... If I did my math right I don't have anything to worry about, but I think I'll be nervous until November 18!)
Feel the same way
I feel the same way. If I did everything correctly, I should be good to go -- but you just never know. Looks like we have another 3 weeks of waiting, until it's official. The countdown begins. Good luck, everyone!!
Is anyone going to go to the advisory sessions at Sac State? I think there is one on Nov. 18th at 1pm in Library 11 with current nursing students.
Went to one before applying. I don't think it is relevant if you've already applied.
Oh, okay. I wasn't sure if it was worth going to or not. Since it was with current nursing students I thought it might be more revleven as to ways to prepare or what not. Thanks for the info.
