Sacramento State Spring 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys,I didn't see a thread yet for the spring '17 program so I figured I'd start one. CSU nursing programs are more competitive than ever, so let's try to help each other through this extremely nerve-wracking process!

Yes indeed! I already have questions about the application, and I'm not sure how to get them answered. Good luck everyone!

Yes, I'm applying too! It is so competitive, which is a little discouraging. I am retaking the TEAS this month, hoping for a better score. I am getting 42 points for my GPA, due to my one and only B in chem. The good thing about spring start is that they get less applicants.

Good luck on the new teas exam! Although they mentioned the level of difficulty hasn't changed, I'm curious how it compares to the old one. Also, I wonder what the cut-off score for spring will be. If it hikes up another 3 points, that'll make it 81.

I'm also retaking the TEAS and am hoping I do better on the newer version. I have 50 points from my GPA and 28 from my most recent TEAS attempt. Praying I at least make the waitlist!

Every percentage point on the TEAS is worth about 2 points for the application! Crazy! If everything transfers okay, I think I have a 46 for my GPA and a 43 for my TEAS.

Wow, 43 points for TEAS, that's a great score! How did you prepare? I'm trying to study a bit everyday. I didn't really study the way I should have last time, as I had a baby three weeks before I took the test...don't know what I was thinking.

Wow, congratulations on your baby! :) Besides covering everything in the ATI manual, I recommend purchasing additional TEAS practice exams and doing one a day. (I think I bought the McGraw-Hill and Test Prep Books practice exams. These were just okay in content, but I wanted to work on my ability to focus.)

Thank you! He is 5 months now and such a sweet, easy baby! I will look into the extra exams, very good idea. My test is 9/28, I'm really feeling the pressure now. My score is literally my ticket into Sac. If I don't do well, I will need to try my luck again through cc's lottery. I applied to two schools in spring, but my number wasn't drawn. This whole application process is taxing.

Hi! I'm also applying to Sac State's Nursing Program for Spring 2017. I will have 50 points for my GPA and 31 points for my TEAS, which is only because I retook it. Good luck to everyone :)

Congrats on the baby!! Also, I agree with Thingscozy, the ATI study is very helpful to read through as it goes over many concepts. The McGraw Hill Test Prep was great for practice because it comes with 5 practice test! Good luck on your test!

My stats are:

GPA: 44 points

Teas: 31 points

Work experience: 3 points

Not sure if I qualify for economic background but if so that would be another 3 points.

Total: 78-81 points

Guess we'll see. Last spring the cutoff was 75. Fall was 78. Spring is usually lower than fall due to less applicants. I may have a fighting chance.
