Hi everyone,
My name is Daniel and I just wanted to create this thread so everyone applying to Sac State can share their scores and post any questions they may have.
Ill start!
Pre +Co requisite GPA: 3.92
TEAS Score: 88.0%
Optional Criteria: 6
Overall app score: 78
I am planning to retake the TEAS exam in order to, hopefully, get a higher score!
I re-took TEAS at Sac State today. Did better than last time.Pre +Co requisite GPA: 4.00
TEAS Score: 90.7%
Optional Criteria: 3
Overall app score: 85
I think I should be ok to get into CSUS nursing school . Now going to mail my application..
Congrats on the new TEAS score. You should be in with an 85 app score.
I have a quick question (mostly for those who have already been through this process). On Sac State's Nursing website it says "Fall 2015 Supplemental Nursing Application - closed March 2 - check back mid-March for update on progress!". Does anyone know what kind of progress update we can expect in mid-March? Will they be telling us how far along they are in processing all the applications, or will it be something more general/vague?
In response to your question, Ryno, my daughter is in her second semester of the nursing program at Sac State and I am applying along with you for this fall. The same message was posted last year after the application period ended, saying to check back in mid-March for an update. The good news is that we will get an idea of how the applicants rank (subject to their verification), but the bad news is that it is a lot of work for them to organize all of the data, and it might not really be available until a bit later in the month, and perhaps as late as early April. This is what was sent out last spring, on April 3rd: "We received 460 applications for 80 seats. Based on student-reported data, the applicant ranked 80 has 76 points—the applicant ranked 120 has 71 points. We anticipate the cut-score will be slightly lower when we have completed the evaluation process, but we regret it will be higher than previous semesters..." The cut off for that semester ended up being 71 points.
I hope this helps, and good luck to everyone!

Thanks for the response 😃 That's pretty cool that you'll (hopefully) be in the same program as your daughter at the same time. if I might ask, how did your daughter like her first semester?

She LOVES it!!! The faculty are all very supportive and the experiences have been even better than she was hoping for. The program is great! I am sure you will be in with the points you have, so you have a great couple of years to look forward to. Congrats! Hopefully we will meet each other at orientation in August.í ½í¸€

That's so cool that you and your daughter can be in the same program. I look forward to meering everyone in August, if I get in.
Hey fatrabbit,
I believe the foreign language requirement is waived for nursing students. As far as the 9 upper GE classes... When I was there the writing intensive class included in the nursing curriculum satisfied 3 of those units and the other 6 you had to complete on your own. Many students found online classes to meet the requirement during the nursing program however you can take them over the summer as well.
I just stalked this thread lol. Is anyone going to take their wpj test or participate in their transfer bridge program?
Did anyone get accepted into other schools and are just waiting to hear if they got into a nursing program now? Because i am and the wait is terrible. I'm contemplating signing the intent to enroll for all of the ones that I've been conditionally admitted to. Is that allowed? Lol
I have a pre-req 4.00 gpa and a 3.98 cum gpa. And i got a 90 on the teas. No optional criteria. I hope that's good enough.
Someone mentioned that it's best not to work. I'm gonna have to work to pay rent and other expenses. Is anyone else worried about working too? Or have advice? I just passed the CNA test so I was hoping to work and gain experience...

They sent that out on April 3rd last year, so I wonder how much longer before they send out something similar for us. I did speak with someone in the nursing department on the phone the other day and they said this is the biggest applicant pool they have ever had, so it's probably going to take them even longer to give us an update. But either way, hopefully by this time next month we should all know that we've been accepted

Until I hear otherwise, I'm going to send my transcripts as is. Like you said, Ryno, there is no emphasis on pre-reqs being listed on application transcripts, so I assume it's not an issue for them unless our Spring (2015) grades don't demonstrate completion of all necessary pre-requisites, in which case they'd probably just drop us and select the next alternate.
Something else I saw useful while reading the application instructions was that the official postmark deadline for official transcripts is March 16th, not March 2nd.
