Hi All!
I'm currently applying for Sac state nursing fall 2014 as a transfer student. I'll have approximately 72 pts by the time of application. I cant wait for april/may to hear the results!
Interested in hearing about your experiences!
Hey, everyone. I am new to AllNurses and applied to Sac State. I have finished up all my pre and co - requisites with a 3.915 gpa. I got an 89.3% on the TEAS. Also I may have 3 more optional points giving me 76 points.
The 89.3% is from my first attempt at the TEAS from January. I got around 80% in math so decided to take a month and focus on improving that. I did make a big improvement giving me a 95% in math, but it nearly balanced out to the same because I went from a 95% in english comprehension the first time to an 80% ! This left me with an 88.7% on my second attempt. I feel pretty awful about it still because I wasted all that time (and money) only to do slightly worse overall. At least Sac State takes the highest score! Does anyone else have any TEAS horror stories?
Good luck to everyone! I look forward to getting to know you all!
I feel your pain, Lindsay! I got a 82.7% on my first try, but I didn't study for it at all (I took my final exams the day before). So I studied my butt off for a month and got a 92%. I decided to re-take it for the 3rd time, and I felt so confident and prepared, but I got the same score AGAIN! My Science and English dropped while my Reading and Math improved. I seriously felt so defeated. It's a tough test for sure.
Oh my gosh! How frustrating! Though I am very jealous of your 92% because that was actually my goal for the second time! I now wish I would've signed up for a third time.. because "third time's a charm", right? If I don't get accepted for Fall 2014 I will definitely be taking the TEAS a third time, though and maybe then I can succeed in simultaneously improving all areas of the exam!

I was lucky that I was able to finish up all the prereqs before applying, but I chose to take Nutrition and Pharmacology just to get myself ready. All this waiting is so nerve-wracking!
