I'm planning on applying for Fall 2015 myself, but I'm worried about the pre-requisite courseload (planning on Micro, A&P I, and Gen Chem II at a community college for the spring semester; hoping to take A&P II at Rutgers summer session II, should they allow me); I've taken all the pre-reqs past the 5-year mark, and a bit frustrated in trying to fit them into my schedule, but at least this will give me a chance to improve my grades (previously all C+ and Bs). I'll probably renew my BLS at the community college, too.

I was also a little tiffed with the ABSN info session RSVP link; when I clicked on it, it said a "2014" date, so I messaged them about it, but wasn't told to try again--visited the site a few days later, only to tell me they're full for that session. :arghh:

ATM, trying to go down my list of what else needs to be obtained (unofficial transcripts from previous schools, assurance of positive references, resume) for the NursingCAS application, and then will probably work on writing my personal essay in the next few weeks.

How come you didn't start the prereqs in fall? a couple of people already plan on withdrawing as you can see. It's worth a shot.

Yes, the GRE is required because it's also a master's program. However my GRE requirement was waived because I already have a master's degree. Good luck to all applying at Rutgers!

hey guys! quick question, do you have to have all prerequisite done before you apply or can you take some in the summer and finish before you start the program? i have the general chemistry left but wont be done until around august :/

I will be done by May. They said the prereqs should be completed on the website but I have heard of people who called with pending prereqs and were encouraged to apply still. Can't you do the earlier summer session?

I would but because they are looking for general chem II, I have to take general chem I first :/ so my plan is to do general chem I in earlier session then general chem II in the later summer session. Does the fall program start in August or September?

Hi Michelle A, the program starts in September. I don't know where you are from but Union County College offers a chemistry/biochem hybrid class that counts for the chem preq and so you wouldn't have to do 2 classes. You might want to look around and see if other colleges offer it too so you can speed up the process. Good luck!

I called and they said you can have 3 courses outstanding, which is weird because that is not what it says online. I'm going to call and ask again because if so, I'm just going to submit my application now.

thanks guys! i also called and they said that if i get accepted, and as long as i finish the classes before the program start i'm good!
