Rutgers Accelerated Nursing- Fall 2015 (Newark)

Published

Wow, seems like no one is applying here or maybe we just have a lot of readers. In any case i hope to apply for the accelerated nursing program for Fall 2015. originally, it was to be Spring 2016 because i haven't finished prereqs but I'm hoping to be done next spring (of 2015) and hoping they extend the deadline. Anyone else?!!

That's the only way to apply though, so I don't see how you can apply unless it's though nursingcas. It's there, go to the nursingcas 3.0 programs list, it's there.

ah i see! the 2 Rutgers are separate campuses.

however, i can't upload my essay. after i add the school, there isn't a place where i can assign prereqs and upload any documents

I noticed that too. I called the this morning and the guy must have gotten many calls because he already knew why I called lol but he said we can email or fax or just wait for them to fix it in a couple of weeks.i got a email and fax number but I think I will just wait.

thank you very much! haha i was wondering for weeks when they would put it up... i'm going to wait too, easier to submit through CAS

Hi everyone, I am currently a student in the Rutgers Newark ABSN. The program is going through a lot of changes after the merger, which leads it to be disorganized. You will basically dedicate all your time to them because they change things very last minute. You have to be flexible, that is for sure. The experience has been rocky for many students in our class, but it is only week 4 so hopefully things will improve.

Safety is a concern. Things happen around the school. But for the price, you get a nursing degree and that is what matters the most.

I saw some of you guys are talking about applying to the NB campus. They were going to have an NB cohort this semester, but had to cancel it just a few days before day 1 because there were not enough students. So even if you "get in" to NB, that can change at any moment.

Being flexible is KEY because things change, very often.

Make copies of EVERYTHING before you submit them, because they get lost (especially immunization forms). Stay on top of your application/documents. Make as many calls as you need to to get things done. Good luck with your applications!

Oh no, things happen? Like what? I know Newark is dangerous but I heard the campus was fine. Hasn't it been like two years since the merge? That's very scary to think about that it's so disorganized. Thanks for your comment.

Things like muggings, car theft/break ins, etc. The build is fine, but there is no real "campus." As soon as you leave the Rutgers building, you are on the streets of Newark. The security guards do their best to protect everyone and even walk people to their cars at night, but still, things happen. If you're not lucky enough to get one of the few spots in the lot in the back of the building (that fills by 7:45am), you have to park somewhere the requires you to walk on the streets. The merger was made official in July 2013, so about 18 months. There are still a lot of things being integrated and as a student you feel that at times.

Oh no, i heard of a attack that happened this week. It is to be expected, I guess you just have to prepare as best you can. Thank You for your response. What is your schedule like?

Okay so I checked again to see the deadline for fall because I know last year they kept extending it on a monthly basis. This year they just extended it to June!! I am so relieved because now i will finish my prerequisites before submitting every thing. Did anyone do the BLS certification yet?

@ Jbp1592. thanks for the advice. I will not be applying to Rutgers. I've been accepted to two other schools and am waiting to hear from the others.

Where else did u apply?
