Rutgers ABSN Summer 2019

Hi Guys, I didn't see a thread for the Rutgers ABSN Summer 2019 so I figured I would start one.

Has anyone applied to the program?

Clinical starts Week 2, but you won't actually get to the hospital until like Week 9. It's all classroom stuff for the first 7ish weeks. You don't have to wear your uniforms for the classroom stuff unless it's a Skills Test Out day.

Sorry, I'd like to make a correction here for anyone else depending on this info. I believe my first day of clinical did actually start Week 1. It's the health assessment lab that started Week 2. But just confirm with your instructors if you need.

Also from nassau! I've been debating doing LIRR to PATH. its roughly 1.5 hour commute by train but at least I can study/half sleep on the train. I'm concerned about the daily tolls and traffic

I think I will be commuting by car if I am accepted. I hate taking the train to the city so going to NJ would be miserable!

I traveled by train to the city for undergrad and the commute was about the same. I hated it lol but it was doable. I like having the option of both driving and taking the train.

I plan to drive for orientation though because its 8-4:30pm, I'd love to see how the traffic is.

Me too! I went to CCNY, and I cries everyday tbh. I think leaving before traffic would be the best way. I’m on the waitlist, but if I ever get accepted, hopefully I meet an LI pal I can carpool with ??

I got in! I received my email on Monday around 10 am for the Newark campus.
