  1. Since it’s a second Bachelor’s degree, whatever financial aid you didn’t use for your undergrad should be awarded to you. Technically, we all have a limit on federal loans for undergraduate and graduate programs (I think 50,000+, not entirely sure). If you only used $10,000 for your first degree, you would get the full undergrad amount that is allowed per semester. We don’t qualify for grants because it’s a second degree. I know there are scholarships available and there should be a page for that (look up RU scholarships). There are other federal loans like the Parent PLUS loans from NJCLASS. You also have the option for private loans. I got federal loans and that’s all I used. But I know some of my peers applied for private loans and PLUS Loan. Private loans will require a credit check and/or a co-signer to assign you an interest rate. PLUS requires your parent/guardian’s information and references.
  2. Hi! The online application is divided between previous RU students and new prospective students. I did the re-enrollment application which is a bit different. I remember having to write a short essay on why I was coming back for nursing. There was a portion for recognitions/awards you may put down. There was a spot for supporting documents and that’s where I put my resume (from what I remember but there could be a spot for you to upload that) They also got rid of the recommendations portion. In terms of the new application requirements, it shouldn’t differ from other school applications. I’m pretty sure you can start an application and go back to it whenever you would like to add more information. Just make sure your prerequisites are sent in by October 15th. Start sending them early because they might take some time. You definitely need your CPR card but that should be fairly easy and quick to get. I hope that answered some of your questions. Good luck!!
  3. I had to use Castle Branch for my ABSN program. We didn’t have to mail in fingerprints but it is common for health associated programs to ask for such things. Considering the field is dealing with the life of vulnerable patients, I don’t think it’s unusual to ask for that. To even go further, most jobs ask you to get fingerprinted (services like eVerify). I had an in-depth background check that looked at everything from how many parking tickets you have to any felonies. I haven’t heard about the contacting of families though. That does sound weird lol.
  4. Yeah. I was placed on the waitlist last week (March 11) so I think someone declined a spot
  5. I got in! I received my email on Monday around 10 am for the Newark campus.
  6. Hey! Congrats on your acceptance. Depending on where you live you could take the NJ Transit train as well. As a student you could get a 25% discount on one month passes as well. That may reduce costs as well. Good luck in nursing school! I wish you the best.
  7. Hi!!! I wish I knew how to PM. I don't have a FB but I want to send you my email address.
  8. Hi guys! I also applied to TESU and was conditionally accepted because I still needed to take the TEAS. My interview was on 7/13 and I was accepted right after. I'm really nervous about this 12 month program but I'm excited at the same time!!! I live near Jersey City so my commute will be almost 2 hours a day. I'm actually thinking of renting an apartment but I don't know the area. Someone help please!!
