Rutgers ABSN Summer 2019

Hi Guys, I didn't see a thread for the Rutgers ABSN Summer 2019 so I figured I would start one.

Has anyone applied to the program?

Many of us applied to both campuses and got into both. They need to sort out who’s going where and this frees up a lot of seats. Good luck.

I was in a group of 10 students. We had four days of school and clinical. Tuesday and Wednesday was classroom. One day for health assessment lab and another day for clinical. Some people got lucky and had health assessment on Wednesday so they just had to devote 3 days to school. Keep in mind the spring semester is longer than the summer so this is likely to be different for your level 1.

Thank you for the info ! Were the classes all in the morning ? I’m asking because I have a kid and I’m trying to know more or less what to expect from the schedule

Use this link(it’s only for Newark):

http://nursing.rutgers.edu/rooms/

it will show you class(didactic only) schedules about a month before you’re given your schedule by the college. We didn’t get our schedules until last minute. Don’t forget to add in 6 hour clinical and 4 hour health assessment lab. Usually on two separate days but not always. Some students have kids and jobs so it’s doable.

I wonder around how many total applicants Rutgers had for the Summer 2019 ABSN

I read NJCU had around 1500 applications for Fall 2019 admission and that is why there is a delay in admission announcements. Im surprised it was only 360 at Rutgers,does summer usually get fewer applications than Fall or Spring?

This is the first year Rutgers has a summer start , they only used to do fall and spring, they don’t do fall anymore.

If we are trying to dorm in the residence halls, do we email somebody to apply for housing? Not sure how it all works for accelerated students?
