I have one of those bags and I will use it while doing my peds part because we need two books. That bookbag is actually ALOT heavier then my normal one, as you have to carry the weight of the support for it too. and it makes too much noise pulling it down stairs.

Are you sure you'll need to carry all that stuff? The books are huge but more than likely you won't need them for class everyday. You may find all you need is a 3 ring binder, some pens/highlighters, and PDA/iTouch. That works for me :)
May not need them for class, but will need them for study group after class.

I use a good large wheelie back pack, for my books. I am required to have them with me. I also rent a locker. I am lucky I get a 1 hour break between my classes each day, so I have time to shuttle btw class and locker.
Get one that has good wheels and straps to carry incase of stairs.
Mine is a Swiss Army brand that I got at Costco last winter.

I got a collapsable cube at Office Max. 18x18x18", with a lid and telescoping handle. It holds up to 80 lb. I've gotten a lot of comments so far, and I've been happy with it. Not overly sturdy, that's for sure, but also only $27.

Outdoor Products makes a GREAT wheeled bag for under $80. I got one a few weeks ago. It has inline skate wheels (not those cheap ones) and 5 pockets for storage and laptops, etc. The handle is retractable and zips up so you can't see it and the straps are nice and wide with padding in case you need to carry it. I found mine on ebay...search Outdoor Products :)

I got the exact same thing and I love it! At the end of the day when everyone was complaining about back pain, I was feeling fine. One day I had the handle fully extended and I hung my lab coat over it so it wouldn't get dirty. I thought I would use the removeable lid as a seat once in a while too, but it kept flying off at random times. Oh well!
I could be happier about the lid, but I think bungee cords will take care of that. I think because the folding sides don't stay rigid, the lid can easily come off. Price to pay for super collapse, I guess.
