Just thought I would start a thread to see hopw many of us will be starting the nursing program in Spring or Fall of 2006. R.N or L.P.N.? I just got my acceptance letter for R.N. and am so excited. Who's with me!?
I got accepted into an Accelerated BSN program in Kansas City MO that starts in August 06. After the one year program, I will either go straight into a FNP program, or I will work two years (to pay off the school), then go to a FNP program.
I am almost 30, have a handsome 7 month old son and a beautiful fiance. I also have a BS in biology with a minor in chemistry, as well as a MS in acupuncture. I finish my Chinese Herbal certificate in December.
But right now I am have to take a few pre-reqs before the program. I was a actually amazed I would need more classes since I have 140+ credits in my undergrad and 190+ credits for my masters. Sigh. I am embarassed to admit that I have to retake Human Phys to make up for my C that I got in 97'.
Damn capricious youth.
Good news today, I had blood tithers done for measles, mumps, rubella and chicken pox. All of them came back equivicle, which means I do not have the immunity for them in my blood. Since I cannot have the immunizations right now, I called the nursing department and they said it would be allright as long as I had a letter from my doctor saying I could not have the immunizations now and got them after the baby is born. Whew. I was pretty worried.
I'm glad they are working with you. Good luck. :)

Did not have the opportunity to go to college right after H.S; Now my husband is supporting me all the way through. After I earn my degree he is going back and I will cover his back. Teamwork
That is so awesome!! Me and my husband are both going to school at the same time, and let me tell ya, it's not easy!!! Luckily, we don't have any children yet...!!!

i hope that i don't offend anyone when i say this, But maybe you can get a religious objection? I am not sure how that works, but you could say that the reason you had them as a child was because your mom made the decisions but you no longer wish to get the series? There is a form that you can fill out exempting you.... Maybe this way you can still attend school...
