yeah! bumping up for more people. come on in and tell us your story! We have to get to know each other because we will probably all come to the boareds for support in the spring!

I am Shannon 29 married for 8 years and mother of a just turned 5 year old girl. No previous degrees, and have been in school doing RN prereqs for 2 years (some part time and some full time) I have been a stay at home mom since 2000 when Olivia was born. Have no idea what kind of nurse i want to be except that community health and E.R. seem very interesting.

:) hi!! i have my spot in fall of 2006!!! will be meeting the counselor to get the agenda in march.

my name is ann, i am 34 i live with an awesome and very supportive guy, wade, and we have 3 dogs and 2 cats. i had wanted to go back to school for a while but kept edging it off due to money and thinking i was to old to start this. well, wade convinced me i should follow my dream, as he did, and here i am!! he is a paramedic and i am self employed as a stone stacker - makes it easier to work around the pre-reqs. i also am an emt, with a degree in data processing/business education, but jobs of that nature are pretty far and few in this area.

i look forward to the coming years of helping and supporting each other in our ups and downs. and hope to make many friends as the time goes by!

Count me in too! I will start clinicals for RN program 01-09-2006 (not too far away! :p

Jessica, married, no children yet, no previous degree either, been working full-time since Sophmore year in H.S.

Did not have the opportunity to go to college right after H.S; Now my husband is supporting me all the way through. After I earn my degree he is going back and I will cover his back. Teamwork

ADN program 2006 in Madison.

I am 32, married, 2 boys ages 5 and 7. I have been on the waiting list for 2 1/2 years., so I am ready to go!! I am a CMA now working part time.

i didn't really have the ability after high school either - to many bad choices. but thankfully that has all changed! i saw a doctor and found my head :rotfl: (yeah okay i know bad joke).

right now wade picks up most of the bills as i am to stubborn to give up total control! (shhh don't tell him i admit to being stubborn okay). but once the program actually starts i am free to change my situation to however fits in best - even if that means quiting my work.

Great to meet you guys. I just went to send off my FBI background check stuff today. Let me tell you all of the little fees for everything are adding up! 10.00 for the fingerprinting, 18.00 for the background check, 32.50 plus 7.00 shipping (or 24.50 if within 1 week) for a certified copy of your birth certificate. 200.00 to hold your spot in the school on top of the already paid 40.00 admissions fee. Not to mention the 30.00 for the physical, 15.00 for a titer for the hep b shot or 150.00 if you need the series, 5.00 per immunization titer or shot if needed, 15.00 for TB mantoux testing. i looked to se what first semester books were going to cost and that is over 600.00. prices for uniforms, lab coat and school patch and other equipment. WHEW! This is going to be spendy! ....but SO WORTH IT! the price even couldn't affect my joy today! So come on out guys, i know there are more of you!

I am also a Spring 2006 nursing student. My orientation is on Thursday. I have 3 kids and have been going to school off and on since 1996 a year after I graduated from high school and stopped going to school when I had my kids and than after my husband joined the military and moved to Germany but now he is out and we are back in the States and my turn now to finally get my degree. Dh working 2 jobs to send me to school. Good luck everyone!!
