Anyone in Visalia?
There's some decent apartments on the SW side Sierra Ridge I believe, Walnut and Akers St. There's some condo type ones off of Akers and Whitendale that are 2 bedrooms or more, that are decent price.

Anyone in Visalia?
Welcome to the area! When do you start? I have worked for the district over 4 years, some of while in nursing school, and since graduating 2 years ago. I work in the NICU and love it there. I have heard good things about the ICU program. The district is like any other hospital, it has its good points, and bad points....but I am just thankful to have gotten hired on as a new grad 2 years ago, and thankful to have a job in this economy sometimes! As far as what areas to live in, SW is best. Are you looking to rent an apartment or a house? Is it just you, or do you have children too? Best of luck and let me know if you have any more questions.

Questions about Nuses in California
I live in Central California. Nurses start at $25 here. I am going to a community college (starting ADN program Tuesday!) and did not have to wait at all to get into my program. I just had to have a high enough GPA and have certain pre-reqs completed. Our school still chooses based on GPA, but some in the area have gone to lottery, so it's the luck of the draw to get in. No real waiting lists, that I know of, in this area. You can PM me if you have more questions. Good luck to you!

How can I keep my sanity??
I'm right there with you! I think many of us here are in the same boat. I have applied to one program, and probably will not know until after May 1st. I think about it every day and just really want to know if I'm in or not, so I can plan my life! I am taking three classes right now, and sometimes find it hard to concentrate, wondering if I got accepted or not...same things, if my GPA is high enough, etc. It's already the 6th and time is going by fast...sorry I don't have any suggestions, because I'm really in the same situation and can't stop thinking about it! Good luck and post when you find out one way or the other!
