Riverside Community College Spring 2011

Published

Applications were due today for Spring 2011 at RCC. Just wanted to say good luck to all the people that applied with me, and maybe we can keep up with each other as we wait for letters to be sent out!

Thanks, and again good luck. :D

I ordered all of the required books for Nursing 1 and Nursing 15. $375.96 with shipping. Aack! :-)

Hey, did you buy them straight from the publisher or off of a discount website like half.com?

Just trying to see what the cheapest possible route would be for me, I think I have to wait to get my books until after I pay the other hundreds for the background check etc.

Thanks!

-Leslie

Mine were about $375 too- I got them new on amazon. Usually I buy used books but I figure I'll be using these for 2 years so I want them to start new.

may i ask when is everyones registeration date?

mine is jan 21st, that seems a bit late since ive been at rcc 2 1/2 years with like i think 52 units

I've been at RCC for 2 years with about 40 and mine isn't until the 24th! There were lots of People who didn't do their prereqs at RCC though so we should be ok *evil laugh*

My registration date is January 18th. I've been here way too long! I started RCC when I was 17 in Fall 2006.

Did you guys get your Big Brother/Sister assignments at Intake day? If you did... email or call them, it was SOO helpful for me as a new Nursing 1 student. They are able to help you with your choices of instructors as well as things to focus on for exams. I am so excited for you guys. It is a WILD ride, and you WILL have no life like everyone always says... lol! But it is so worth it, and now that Nursing 1 is done, I feel like where did it go... and I actually kinda miss the routine of going to school and hanging out with my nursing buddies everyday! :)

When is your orientation day? I think we will be there if we are your big brother/sister. Not sure though... they havent told us anything.

thanks brandon that is a good observation, a lot of people did raise their hands saying they don't attend rcc. ya i think since we've been here for 2 years we should be 1st day or at least 2nd day reg, but im guessing robinson is 1st day.

i have a question about the red tape if anyone can answer it:

the last page before the math review is a page about ati and how we have to pay $404 for the online access or something (it doesnt specifically say what we are paying for, but just a payment code and the amount due)

then on the yellow packet, there is an "ati comprehensive assessment and review program" designated

are these 2 purchases seperate or the same thing? also i can't even test it out myself because the payment code and class code aren't even valid "you have entered an invalid semester. please verify with your instructor."

also, riverside campus orientation is jan 20th

Yes they are the same thing. Enter the code with no spaces.

may i ask when is everyones registeration date?

Im on the 21st as well, and I have around 60 units.

My registration date is February 12. Cutting it a little close. :-) I've never attended a class at RCC... Thank goodness we have our designated spots, or I'd be getting nervous!

First book came in the mail. For the person who asked earlier, I ordered everything through eBay and half.com- they had the best deals. I wish the syllabus was posted online so we could get started on the reading!

I have all of my books now! I just sit and look at this gigantic stack all the time! I've tried on the uniform and I'm ready to go! Enough waiting!

For those of you who already purchased your books...we want both the "one volume" and "two volume" editions of Brunner and Suddarth's textbook of medical-surgical nursing (12th ed.), right? I wasn't positive on if we had to order both, or just choose one. Thanks! Hope you all are having a great holiday!
