Hello everyone. I just wanted to start the thread for all the new applicants of RCC's Nursing Program for Spring 2014. This thread is to help each other stay current with old and new information about the program. Share your thoughts about the application process, teas V preparation, acceptance, and support group. Let the applications begin!!

Hi ladies! So I went to the workshop yesterday and apparently I can apply with my micro in progress except it is not recommended. --------- told me my chances would be very slim so I will have to wait until the next application time. The workshop really put me at ease because ------- looked over my classes and verified that they were equivalent to rcc's requirements. Well to those who are applying this time, good luck! I hope every one gets in! :)

Hi, what are your stats going into the teas? Micro is a hard a class

The info session are very helpful!!!!! If you have any questions talk to them directly! They have told me dont go by word of mouth, cause then it just confuses the students..But thats good are you still gonna apply!?

Oh okay I see, I only have taken classes at the Norco and Riverside campus. I had ------ for 2a,2b... I heard ----- was hard my friend took him too! I only took Physics because I wanted to go to LLU, that was my first choice. Since I didnt get in :notworthy:, it doesn't matter, no other school I've seen has physics as a requirement. I'm applying to Valley, and RCC this term. If I do not get in I'll be applying again and also to Mt Sac, and Cal State San Bernardino to start in the Fall2014..I'm just so over waiting, I graduated technically in the spring, so now I'm just taking classes to get a 2nd associates and just the cna program im in, I just want to start already!! : )

Thats why I reallly hope to get into RCC they have a very good rep, from all the nearby hospitals. You can't beat the price either , If i get in, I will be looking into accelerated BSN programs asap, I been looking at LLU, UCLA, Cal State Northridge, Cal State Dominguez Hills, and Fullerton's. All in all it becomes waay cheaper. So thats why I do not get down when people say why am I wasting time getting my adn... There are plenty of jobs in our area! ;)

I hope we all get in, so at least we will have some one we know already!

Yeah ------ class is pretty hard, but he is just comedy haha. It made my mornings going to that class. Hmm I haven't heard of -----, but yeah I would probably 2B and Phy-10.

Oh that's a struggle, but can't you apply for winter or spring quarter perhaps to LLU? I've heard their spring admissions is a bit less competitive, and they also carry a Pipeline program? Yeah, these nursing programs take time to get in;I feel like i've been in college for so long! lol Let's just keep our hopes up that RCC will take us! :D lol

As for the jobs, RCC even has a program for RN new-grads and internships. I think it all comes down to communicating with the right people, and really putting yourself out there during clinicals. :nurse:

Specializes in ICU, step down, dialysis.

what is your score so far in your practice exams?

Hi Guys, I submitted my S'14 application as well to RCC! I took my TEAS V Saturday. Reading was TOUGH. Time was the greatest issue for me. The other sections are straight out of the book. I just felt the Reading was more tricky on the actual exam. I'm nervous now because I scored 86% and my overall Science GPA is a 3.33 and my general is 4.0 only because I have a BA. My overall app score will be 85. But is that good???? The enrollment specialist told me 85 was the cutoff for Fall's application period :nailbiting: I would really really love if all of us could get in!!!

Hi Monica if you have a 85 points, you are for sure in. Congrats to you!!

Monica A, just curious, what did the specialist mean that 85 was the cut off for Fall's application period? You mean last year's Fall application of for this Spring 2014? And cut off meaning the lowest accepted score was 85points?
