  1. Hi everyone! Congrats for those of you who got in! And @mp86 you are correct. 11b & c are those who want the extra hours to be able to study/practice.. or just want financial aid in full. 11a is the only required one. So if you want more hours for any of the above reasons, you need to register for both 11, 11a, and/or b, c. The sheet you got with all the rotations on it, under that Course id # where it is listed on that paper, is the one you choose once you are on webadvisor. That sheet gives you more of an accurate schedule, on webadvisor it is a bit choppy and doesnt list all the info. : ) Again congrats! It flys by so fast!
  2. Pacific times health care college is the one I went to it is in Corona, right down the street from the Norco Campus. It was ehh. Because we were the 1st class, I've heard it is much better, and it is around 1600They have a fast track one that is only 16 days. It is fully accredited. Your cpr is also included
  3. Yes it helps, because if you decide to do your clinicals there they will already know you, and possibly even hire you as a RN once you finish. So that is a open door of opportunity! I wish you the best, what ever the outcome is : )
  4. Peppercini08, that's great! I wanted to do that program, but my schedule was already slammed, I hear once you been there for x amount of time you can get hired there, idk if it is true, but I hear they pay their cnas very very well! Again, if you do not get in, do not give up! Try upping your points through your gen ed! Even having your foot in a hospital makes all the difference! So even if you have to wait, at least gaining that experience will help you in the long run! : )
  5. VaneD20 That is great you have your cna, because it really does help! You fly by the first month! Because it is stuff you mostly already know. If by chance you do not get in, do not give up, try to get points elsewhere maybe by making your gpa higher! It is honestly a great program, and from what I hear from faculty, and even those in the hospitals (Other RN's, and students) We have the best reputation in the area. So do not give up!! Yes because I know what it was like not knowing, and I know other people from higher semesters were on here encouraging us, so I want to return the favor : )
  6. Oh yeah another thing, yes your cohort will do Nursing 13 in the summer. So taking the Fullerton class may not be a option til you're in between N21/22. Which gives you plenty of time to save up if you are thinking of doing that down the road. Another optional class is Pharmacology. They are really recommending us to take that class. Which I am doing this summer, but it is only for those who are already in the program. Some are not taking it, they are taking classes to fulfill the BSN requirements like Stats etc...So more options lol!
  7. Hahaha! Trust me you may get bitten! I've gotten scratched so it's all good! Yes the way you get priority is if you have gotten everything turned it by the deadline to get priority. Another thing is also you will need to register for N11a which is all lab. You need 27hrs of your own time to pass that and it is a requirement. There is N11b and c which is just more lab hours if you need to practice your skills. These are taken if students need the 12units for full financial aid disbursement. Just another side thing, so you can plan your schedule once you see what the options are : )
  8. Hey mp86! I would wait on that right after you do intake day. I'm not sure if they will add or take anything out of what we had to do. As far as immunizations go, if you have had most of them taken care of as a child (Little yellow card) bring that to your provider/ or student health. They will see what you have check it off, and you will just need to do the titers, which they will send you to a lab to do the blood work. From what I remember you need TB (2 tests) TDAP MMR Varicella Polio Flu shot (need one every year in the program) HEP B (3 shot series) Now this is the one that gets everyone. IF you have taken all 3, you're golden. I had only taken 1 as a child. So I did my 2nd in Dec. I was okay'd to be in the program because the school knows you can only take your 3rd one after 5-6mo after the second. So I just did my 3rd one yesterday. CPR Again this one has to be American Heart Association/BLS And you will have to renew it if it expires sometime before the program. Don't wait the month it expires, try to get it done earlier if you know it will. I know they are big on this one. Physical Examinations/ and clearance must be signed by MD/DO,NP,PA (They have them at student health) Now if you have most of these, than you are okay. Just need to print out the check list from American Data Bank, and take it to your provider/ or if you like to student health and bring you little yellow card, or other proof that you have had any of these vaccinations, etc. And yes, and no. We just got the info we had the option to do that, but you must have already completed one semester of nursing before even applying. So I can do this option next summer if I'd like. Per the info letter, they do not offer financial aid for this unfortunately, We guesstimated it being around 2-3k for the summer, If we do Fullerton. But that is a cool option! Oh another thing, If you guys are wondering the dosage cal class is really really good! It is really easy, but they break up how to do dimensional analysis. Because every week you will have dosage, and 2x a semester have a dosage exam you must get 100% So if they offered it in the summer, I would really highly recommend you do it : )
  9. LOL, oh man you are a shoe- in! Do not worry! I unfortunately did not do well on the teas so that made my score on the lower end at 75pts. At first I got a noticed saying that I was not in, due to the fact they had no record of me sending in my teas. I emailed them like crazy showing emails that they had sent me verifying I indeed had them sent, plus recites of ATI. Next day I was in. I really do not know what happened, because I know of a couple with 75pts who were automatically sent to stand-by. Til this day they have not told us how they chose from that stand-by list. If it's by number, or random. Rumor is that they picked alot of people that were already cna, or in the med field. So I don't know if that had anything to do with it. I heard cohort before us a person got in with 70pts from the stand-by list. That didn't happen with us 75pts was the cut off. SO I think you are more than OKAY! The Teas has nothing to do with nursing once you are actually in the program, you will see what I mean! I think if anything the pre reqs were alot harder!
  10. Hi Dreambuilder!! I got everything done (health-wise) at RCC Student Health. I found the process really easy, because they know exactly what you need. YOu will have to sign up through a compnay called american databank, thats where your background clearance goes to, fingerprints, health clearance etc. You print out a sheet of what is needed ( They will give you all this info in Intake day) From there student health gives you a price sheet, of how much vaccinations are, and titers ( these you will need to show proof of immunity) All in all I do not remember per say But I spent close around mid $200. I just did it through the school, it was easier than going off on my own, just cause they knew exactly what the School of Nursing wants... Hope that was helpful : )
  11. Hello there ! I am a current student finishing up the 1st semester. I just wanted to say good luck and I know exactly how you feel! You will get your answer in no time!! I just wanted to give you guys a bit of insight of what to expect. For myself and many others N11 was a breeze. If you are a current CNA/LVN or have some medical backround you will fly through it. I promise you! For those of you who do not, do not worry. They give you so many tools and resources that you cannot fail. The N11 faculty is simply AMAZING! They are so supportive. ALthough they may seem intimidating at first they are not, they are all sweet hearts! When you get your email whether your in or not (standby) they will instruct you on what you need and by when. The intake day is highly informative. Do not freak out about the vaccinations. If you get things done ahead of time you will be fine. The 3rd Hep B shot depending if you have not taken a 2nd one is due 6mo after your 2nd shot. So do not worry. YOU can still do clinicals! Uniforms- Our class unfortunately did not get our uniforms til the end of March/April. They were totally different from previous semesters and to be honest just sucked! You guys however will be privileged to wear brand new designed scrubs with different colors. They will not be the "traditional" all whites! Do not ask about sizings, because it is a totally new company, so I cannot say. And other then that just take time to enjoy your summer! Do the readings closer to when the semester begins. Many people started early and by the time the semester started they all mostly forgot the content. Just relax! : ) The 1st week is insane! But trust me after week 2, you get an idea of what is expected and you find your balance :) Get a good study group, get some sleep, and do not take yourself too seriously! Seriously! You really do become a family, and you do not want to be the one who is an "outsider" that no one wants to work with, because it is all teamwork : ) You will get a big sister/brother from upper semesters that will kind of guide you if you would like. Mine was really helpful! All in all, first semester has been amazing! I even got into a car accident on a test day, the staff let me go home, rest, and take it when I was ready. They are honestly your best support group! : ) Good luck guys, if you have any questions, hopefully I can be of help!
  12. Ok, just talked to friend who is in the program. According to her she just screen shot it and pasted it onto word doc. and printed it. Geez I feel like a idiot =/
  13. Neither can I, it keeps saying error and will not let me download=/ I tried on a mac laptop and also a windows? Im glad I am not the only one, but how do we print it out then?
  14. I would but I do not have a scanner. I'm sorry you have not received your bundle =/
  15. Hey everyone! @Bigota good for you!! : )) Great to have you along, what clinical site will you be at? Purchased all the texts required but not the selected readings, also got the supply bag. Im shocked it came with that much stuff! Soo cool! Yeah I would like to meet up and finally put some faces to all you guys : )
