Hello everyone. I just wanted to start the thread for all the new applicants of RCC's Nursing Program for Spring 2014. This thread is to help each other stay current with old and new information about the program. Share your thoughts about the application process, teas V preparation, acceptance, and support group. Let the applications begin!!

Oh okay, I think as long as you got A or B, you should be invited...From what I remember about English, they asked alot like how the practice book was. Parts of speech, grammar, etc

I got an A on all my science courses: Micro, AMY 2A, AMY 2B. So if i get an invite, i'm really lucky. I'm reviewing the MATH section right now and it's quite easy. I need to work on the English part soon.

Hi everyone!! I applied to RCC nursing program last week. Just hoping for invite to the TEAS. My study guides should be here this week. Steph123 what did you use to study for the science? I heard the study books don't really help with that portion. I need at least a 78 on the test. The counselor at RCC told me not a lot of people get in the 90's since they changed to the teas V5.

The counselor also told me the people with highest science classes will be invited to take the teas. So if you have a 4.0 in your science you can count on taking the teas on November 8.

@ BigNurse2014, OMG! That is awesome, and with all A's in the sciences you will get invited FOR SURE! Do not even worry! I knew people that had all B's get invited, and some with a C in the sciences that got invited. So I believe you are good! : ) The book is really good with the English section, just practice it, but I found the stuff on the test for English be easier....

Hi Mindy77, I used the actual Teas study guide from the ati website, honestly I did not find it useful. To me the descriptions seemed very broad, where in the actual test there was questions I did not even see in the study guide, or the book barley skimmed on it. I seen on Amazon other teas study guides, I just went by their ratings if they were high or not. But I didnt bother buying it since I was going to take the Teas within a few days... I scored in the 70's, which isn't great so I'm stuck with those points =/......Im sure if you have like 50-60 points before taking the teas you should be fine : )

Oh and also for the sciences go over alot of your Anatomy 2a stuff, Mine was really heavy on the Physiology of things

Steph143 I love Anatomy. I guess you become good at a class if you are passionate about it.

Good luck to everyone! :D I'm taking my TEAS on the 30th of this month, I currently have 50 pts, so I'm hoping to end up with 80-85pts after taking the TEAS. I am crossing my fingers! :)) LOL

Thanks Steph143. I actully have 50 points right now. So I want to get at least a 78 on my teas. I have a 4.0 in my science classes but my general ed is not that great. I took those classes a long time ago. Worse case I'll need to bring that up next semester if I don't do good on the teas. I'll just need to retake a history class or something easy like that. I started studying yesterday and will continue everyday. It's so stressful!! Good luck to everyone:)

it looks like everyone is going into the TEAS exam with 50 points. WOW!! The competition this year is a tough one!! I know at least 10 people applying this semester with 60points going into the TEAS exam. :dead:

Gotta hope for the best. I have finished 50pages on the ATI study guide. I have 200 pages to go. So far the Math part is simple. Yeah I do think about going to LLU for their BSN. hmmm

Yep, must stay positive no matter what! :) And I thought the math and science were pretty simple on the ATI book too, I did struggle in the English and Reading parts though. :sorry: Anyhow,I must keep on practicing, which is really hard because I'm going to school full-time right now too. :/ I am trying to knock out my RN-BSN pre-reqs for a either CSF, CSSM or LLU right now lol.

LLU also has a great RN-BSN program which can be completed in one year (full-time). Well best of luck to you and keep up the good work! :D
