Riverside Community College Nursing Program Spring 2016

Published

Hi everyone!

I thought I would begin a thread for everyone applying to the nursing program at Riverside City College for the spring 2016. Hope we can share about our process here. :)

Currently, I'm finishing up my Anatomy/Physiology 2 and Sociology 100 at CSUSB. So far, I've been doing well, I think haha! If I finish with an A in sociology I'll have a 4.0 for my general eds and a 3.0 for my science gpa. After the spring quarter, I'll be studying for the TEAS exam for a little over a month and take the exam in July. Any advice that's related to the TEAS exam?

Hope we can begin this thread. Best wishes to everyone here!:up::)

Oh for critical thinking you dont have to put math 35. You can use English 1B, CIS1-A, Math35. There are few to choose from. I put ENG 1B because it has a higher grade. I am not too high up there before TEAS, which has me a bit concerned, but believing I can make the TEAS happen. I am at a 45 prior to TEAS. How about you?

I was confuse also because I too do not attend RCC and she also chose an intermediate algebra class for the critical thinking part. I was assuming you can add another math class but idk, im going to email her too.

I wonder if I can put the same class for the 2 slots? I'm going to ask. I was also thinking of putting my STATS class for critical thinking but not sure if it applies to it. I'm also at 45 points before TEAS but it's still possible so don't loose hope :) we just have to do good on the TEAS.

Yes maybe tomorrow we can ask. I have questions myself. Yes I really hope to do well on my TEAS!! Really praying I DO! ;)

I just want to give you guys a heads up now. You really want to not cut any corners on taking the required prerequisite classes. The way that nursing is going you will more than likely have to get a BSN immediately after your ADN to be competitive for the job market. So look into the Cal State Fullerton RN-BSN distance program at RCC and make sure you meet their requirements as well.

In order to submit the application do we use our RCC email?

Yes, Your RCC email. I believe even when you hover your mouse on that spot it mentions RCC email.

It doesn't have to be your RCC email. Just whichever email you check the most because that is the one they will be emailing you back at

I spoke with ___________ and she said I did everything correct on my application. Plus Any email is fine.

Yes, regarding the email I was told by the counselor that any email is fine :] The denial or acceptance will be sent via RCC email though.

Thank you so much for the information! Are you currently in the RN-BSN program at RCC? I'm taking the statistics course this Fall to apply for the RN-BSN program in the future. :]

I used my personal one. Why do they ask for the other classes grades? I thought they only count certain ones? I did not do so great in Chemistry or a few other, so I hope they aren't using those grades for points.

The want to know if you passed Chemistry because in order to graduate with an ADN in the future you would have need to pass that chemistry course. :]

Yes, I do attend RCC and I'm just trying to figure out the quickest way to get my sciences done. Is Chem-3 harder then 2A, the course description online is the same for both of the classes. I'm not sure if Chem-3 combines 2A and 2B, I want to keep my options open for the next semester.

You should take Chemitry 2A as this will qualify you to advancing your degree to a BSN in the future. I would recommend not rushing your sciences as you want to achieve the highest grade possible to be competitive.
