Riverside Community College Nursing Program Spring 2016

Published

Hi everyone!

I thought I would begin a thread for everyone applying to the nursing program at Riverside City College for the spring 2016. Hope we can share about our process here. :)

Currently, I'm finishing up my Anatomy/Physiology 2 and Sociology 100 at CSUSB. So far, I've been doing well, I think haha! If I finish with an A in sociology I'll have a 4.0 for my general eds and a 3.0 for my science gpa. After the spring quarter, I'll be studying for the TEAS exam for a little over a month and take the exam in July. Any advice that's related to the TEAS exam?

Hope we can begin this thread. Best wishes to everyone here! :yes::up::)

Hey! I will also be applying for the spring 16'... I haven't taken the TEAS yet as well but now that this semester is over my studying begins.. How many points do you have before going into the TEAS? I've calculated my points at 55 before the TEAS. So excited to get the process started. I've been following the thread for fall & they received their letters today, can't wait for that to be my reality í ½í¸€

Hi!

My spring quarter finished last Friday and I finally have 50 points before I take the TEAS exam. I'm also planning to study for the exam this summer but for now I'm taking a little break before I begin the studying haha!

I'm soo excited to apply this September! I've been waiting for a couple of years for this moment and now that it's here, it's so surreal. Hopefully we get accepted for the Spring of 2016!

jeannette17 Congrats on the finishing of the quarter, I completely understand your current state of mind! Surreal is the perfect word! I've also been waiting for this moment for what seems like FOREVER & now that it's finally here I have no clue what to do with myself haha! I attempted to start studying for the TEAS and my brain wasn't having it, so I'm just going to enjoy the summer for a little bit... I mean we do have a lot of time before we have to turn in our scores ;) I'm glad you started this thread and I hope more applicants start to post as well.

When you do start studying, what materials do you plan to use?

@Kimmiexo_,CNA

Thank you so much! Congrats to you too!

It's finally a dream for the both of us to apply for the nursing program! I'm sure you'll get it. :yes: I've been doing my research by reading through the prior applicants threads. People with 80 points and up usually get accepted.

Take your time studying for the TEAS exam. :geek: Right now I'm trying to relax because for some reason I still feel like I have homework due or something, haha! We have to turn in our scores, the latest, in November. I asked the counselor from SON.

I'm going to use the ATI test book and the McGraw Hill's book. What about you? :]

@jeanette17

Thank you! I went through the feeling of thinking there was more homework and studying for classes to be done as well, I'm just now starting to realize I'm really done with those classes! & yes, it seems 80 points is somewhat of the safe zone.

I'm using the ATI test book as well. I haven't looked into any others yet.

@Kimmiexo_,CNA

No more homework for us anymore yay! All we have to focus on is study for the exam. I'm feeling relaxed more. I've been reading novels since I hardly have time to read during the school year. :no:

I hope I finish with 80 points or higher. So far people have told me that the TEAS exam is going to cover what's on the ATI study guide.

Hi Ladies!

I was going to apply for Spring 2016, but I wasn't able to finish my last classes over the summer as I had planned.:( I have Micro and Develpomental Psych to finish. So I will be applying in January for Fall 2016. I would love for you guys to keep

posting your process, from applying to taking the Teas, and what you guys reccomend! I'm only one semester behinf you guys, so I would greatly appreciate your comments! :)

Hi everyone!! I'm applying to spring 2016. At first I was bummed because I took my prerequisite classes at CSUSB 5 yrs ago and I was getting mixed answers from past and current students but finally after the 10,000th call I got confirmation from them that there is currently no expiration date :) now that opens my chances to getting into a program. I'm applying to RCC, Mt. SAC, and Citrus being the furthest I can go. I got my BS in public health after trying to get into CSUSBs nursing program and failing but now I'm ready to finish what I started ;) . RCC students come to our hospital for clinicals and they carry themselves very well and their passing rates are great so they are definitely on my top list ! Good luck to all of us ! Kind of bummed they don't grant more points for a BS like they do at other schools but oh well it is what it is.

Anyone going to the information workshop next Thursday ??

Specializes in Peds, Med-Surg, Disaster Nsg, Parish Nsg.

Your thread has been moved to the Nursing Schools and Colleges forum where the other school specific discussions are. We hope you will receive additional responses in this new location.
