Riverside Community College Nursing Program Spring 2016

Nursing Students School Programs

Hi everyone!

I thought I would begin a thread for everyone applying to the nursing program at Riverside City College for the spring 2016. Hope we can share about our process here. :)

Currently, I'm finishing up my Anatomy/Physiology 2 and Sociology 100 at CSUSB. So far, I've been doing well, I think haha! If I finish with an A in sociology I'll have a 4.0 for my general eds and a 3.0 for my science gpa. After the spring quarter, I'll be studying for the TEAS exam for a little over a month and take the exam in July. Any advice that's related to the TEAS exam?

Hope we can begin this thread. Best wishes to everyone here!:up::)

Hello everyone,

I will also be applying for spring 2016. I have completed all prerequisites and have a 4.0 science GPA and 3.0 GE. Now I just need to take the teas test. Hoping to get 90 or above but have heard people average about a 75 percent. So I have a lot of studying ahead of me. I'm so nervous

Congrats on your points so far! Have you begun studying for the TEAS exam? I'll be studying again once I get back from my vacation. When are you planning to take the exam?

any recommendations for teas prep other than the ati book ?

Thanks Jeannette. I've started studying the ati study guide book. I'm hoping to get invited to take the test at RCC which I believe is usually done in October after we submitted our applications. When are you planning on taking it?

Your welcome :geek:

I wanted to wait for the invitation at RCC as well, but my science GPA isn't high enough. I'll be taking it in October as well but at Loma Linda University.

I'm using the McGraw Hill book as well. The sciene portion is pretty good. The English section doesn't challenge me.

Hi guys, I'm starting the program on 3 weeks (crazy) and I wanted to say that the best teas resources is the practice tests and study manual on the ATI website. It's pricey, but if you take the practice tests now, it will break down what you need to work on and then study the manual front I back and about a week before take the practice tests again. You can take the tests 2x and there's 2.

I got an 82 on my teas which put me at 80 points applying. A few people got in with 70 points this semester so there's always hope!

Try to get at 80 pointsthere's your best and safest bet so you don't have to stress the next 4 months. :)

Super helpful! Thank you so much, and good luck in the program, I'll be starting (hopefully) in spring!

Anybody else having trouble staying focused when studying for the TEAS, there's soooo much to know! 😕

I appreciate all the advise and support this site gives me . I would like to apply TO RCC SPRING 2016 as well but I have 3 W, do they like at the W's on your record. My GPA for my undergrad is very low and i'm scared I wont get in, i did my LVN to see if it will help my admission. Any advice would help. Thanks again.

They don't look at W's, they just look at the pre reqs they require
