Hi everyone!
I thought I would begin a thread for everyone applying to the nursing program at Riverside City College for the spring 2016. Hope we can share about our process here. :)
Currently, I'm finishing up my Anatomy/Physiology 2 and Sociology 100 at CSUSB. So far, I've been doing well, I think haha! If I finish with an A in sociology I'll have a 4.0 for my general eds and a 3.0 for my science gpa. After the spring quarter, I'll be studying for the TEAS exam for a little over a month and take the exam in July. Any advice that's related to the TEAS exam?
Hope we can begin this thread. Best wishes to everyone here! :)
Thank you for the advice! How long did you study for the exam, if you don't mind me asking. :]
I studied for about an hour a day for a month so I wasn't burnt out. I took tons of notes and then re typed my notes and then kept writing things down until I knew them. So at the end I didn't write much down because so knew it.
Study science A Lot. It's a huge section, and there's soooooo much they cover.
The reading section is tricky, get with a 3rd grade teacher and learn all of those prepositions and adverb tricks again.

Yeah, I heard the science section was complicated. Thank you so much for the advice! I need to review the grammar tricks again.
How was the nursing workshop? :]
It was really good. Gave a lot of basic information but it also made me feel better about the chances of getting into the program. They pretty much said if you have 80 points you're most likely to get in. Also that the online teas practice exam is the best to use and that the actual teas is not as hard.

Yeah, that's what I heard that the practice tests are harder than the actual test. I've also noticed that 80 points does guaranteed a spot into the nursing program. I'm aiming for those points. So far I have 50 points prior to the TEAS exam. When are you taking the exam? :]

Ya there's really no guarantee just better chances. Ya I have 50 right now also. I'm planning on them asking me to take it hopefully, so November. I'm meeting with the nursing advisor tomorrow to see what she has to say.

Yeah that's true. I can't believe we apply next month!
I have to meet with the counselor was once too. She's really helpful answering questions.

I know!! It came so fast...I can't believe it. I feel like this whole process is going to go so fast but then again it's going to feel like forever until we get our answer
