Riverside Community College Nursing Program Spring 2016

Published

Hi everyone!

I thought I would begin a thread for everyone applying to the nursing program at Riverside City College for the spring 2016. Hope we can share about our process here. :)

Currently, I'm finishing up my Anatomy/Physiology 2 and Sociology 100 at CSUSB. So far, I've been doing well, I think haha! If I finish with an A in sociology I'll have a 4.0 for my general eds and a 3.0 for my science gpa. After the spring quarter, I'll be studying for the TEAS exam for a little over a month and take the exam in July. Any advice that's related to the TEAS exam?

Hope we can begin this thread. Best wishes to everyone here!:up::)

I'm planning to take the exam in early October at Loma Linda. I just called and asked if we had to pay in order to reserve. They said no, however the price went up. It's $85 dollars for the exam. They offer the exams three times a week. Monday, Thursday and Friday.

Oh okay, cool. I called too and was told the same. I am struggling with the Math portion. How are you studying for that one??

I saved my math notes from my school. I also have the textbook that I never sold. I'm reviewing the sections in the book such as absolute valve. (I totally forgot how to solve those problems).

Just reviewing and working on the practice problems.

The application is up now on SON website. Click on "Application Information" & you should see it linked in blue :)

Thank you ! Best of luck to everyone :)

Do we need to submit RCC transcripts?

Do we need to submit RCC transcripts?

It says on the website that we need to submit the transcripts by October 1st. So we still have time but I would get them in sooner than later. You never know if they have a lot of paperwork to deal with days before the deadline. :]

In order to submit the application do we use our RCC email?

I used my personal one. Why do they ask for the other classes grades? I thought they only count certain ones? I did not do so great in Chemistry or a few other, so I hope they aren't using those grades for points.

Chem is not calculated in the GPA. For the Math and critical thinking classes did you put the same class or two different classes ?

For critical thinking I put Eng 1B and for math I put Math 35. I also did not do so well in Math 35. I was told before that they don't count that one, but I don't know anymore.

I'm a little confused on that part just because when I went to see the educational advisor for nursing she filled out all the classes that are equivalent because I do not attend RCC and there is no section for just Math on the paper she gave me and for the critical thinking slot she put my intermediate algebra class. Not sure if that is calculated in the GPA. I'm going to email her tomorrow. I don't want to risk filling it out wrong. I haven't taken eng 1b yet. Do you know how many points you have before TEAS?
