My best friend in nursing school and I always meet 3 hours before the exam. We have breakfast and get our NCLEX book out and just do practice questions on the topic. Our teachers always pray right before the exam, and I also say my own little prayer. Then, I give myself a pep talk--remind myself how much I have studied, how much I know. After the exam me and a couple of the other girls always go to Panera for lunch!! Has worked for me! I am starting my last semester in a little over 2 weeks!!
I cram, I always feel like I forgot to look at something so I am constantly chasing my tail up until the minute of the test. Another thing I do is chew gum during the test. I saw on tv where it is susposed to improve test scores. I have been doing it for so long now I almost have a panic attack if I cant find gum, so far I have always found a piece. I even have everyone around me chewing gum on test day now.LOL!!!
I try to get a decent amount of sleep the night before...then the morning/day of the exam, I always review a little before taking it...I'll also get up earlier to grab some Starbucks coffee :) I eat a good breakfast and also eat some protein right before taking the exam (such as a spoonful of peanut butter or a handful of nuts or something) - one of my instructors always recommended doing that, and I think it helps. Afterwards I usually go grab something to eat because I'm usually starving from using up so much glucose in my brain lol

Many of you have either finished taking finals or about to be done with finals.
I am curious to know what kind of rituals students do before or after an exam. Listen to music? Watch a movie the night before? Wake up an hr before th exam and cram more information in? Go for a manicure after the exam? Pull an all nighter? Mediate/Pray? Eat certain things? What do you do before and/or after an exam?
Personally, I go for a light run before my exam, to get the blood flowing in my body. It has helped my concentration and grades. When I am waiting around for the professor, I usually listen to music (FOO FIGHTERS, YEAA!) I hate hearing my classmates test each other and then argue about certain things, it just heightens my anxiety!
