  1. any advice would be to get that healthcare experience volunteering or working, its really important to them. And of course hope u have a >3.5 gpa at UT and enough rec letters and if that doesnt work, keep trying of course. but im prety sure u will make it.
  2. Oh you wanted to help people? I just went into nursing b/c I get pleasure out of seeing blood, guts, people dying, sticking needles into people and laughing. But obviously this is not what I put on my application, muahahahaaa. I am so evil.
  3. Hello. Welcome and gL in ur future endeavors to RN. I know i cant wait til class begins!
  4. I dont think anyone will blame you for being not an intimate nurse if you are act that way around pts. Do things at your pace and be positive and have an open mind!
  5. No nicolemsm you cannot get a break. You are blessed with beautiful white skin already, what else more do you want?
  6. Holy cow. All these old geezers are nursing students. Lol jk. I love old people. But I myself am 20 and starting nursing school. I think they have interesting stories to tell bc they have lived longer than me. And are wiser. If any1 is curious, yuong ppl consider 26-30 yrs old and more = OLD, not that there is anything wrong with that. Anyone who is a nurse rocks in general:loveya:
  7. I bought a citizen eco-drive like $79, ITS SOLAR POWERED. Supposedly Lasts forever. Lol this is the only reason i bought this watch, it has second hand of course, and it has leather strap which i love. We'll see hhow it goes when i start clinicals.
  8. Awesome! Being surrounded by women AND getting a job/promotion easily? Looks like i chose the right major.
  9. My ritual bfore an exam is to usually relax and hour or 2 before the exam. Basically sit and stare at the wall sort of stuff. Then after the exam, I run home and play games on my computer and crush those noobs. I am being 100% honest btw.
  10. Sounds interesting. I'm in a BSN program so i may sound biased but it appears that RN's with a BSN seem to have an advantage over ASN nurses when looking for a job and stuff. So if you dont mind sparing a little bit more time, I would definitely say go for the BSN so u wont have go the ASN-BSN route in the future. On the other hand, if u really need to provide for family and need a job like ASAP and provide for family, probly ASN will get u out into the job force quicker and u can always get a BSN while working I suppose. But i still lean toward the BSN route bc it will save you time in the long run I believe.
  11. Hey! I'm a guy starting Nursing school this Jan. I don't plan to date either b/c what some of the ppl say on this forum appears to make sense. There is still 2 yrs left of hanging out with the same huge class of ppl and it would cause alot of drama and awkwardness and stress to have a relationship go sour or whatnot. So maybe ill hold out till after graduation or somewhere near the finish line to start dating. But I would be a liar if I said it is not tempting b/c there are a bunch of beautiful girls in my class, haha
  12. I got accepted to UT austin SoN, start this spring. I did prereqs here so this school was my first choice and only choice pretty much, but i got in! Hopefully u did choose UT austin over TWU, so i might see u here. Brackenridge is great, i volunteered there, every1 is nice and it is a very big trauma hospital so there are lots of diff things to see. That as much experience as i can give u. GL!
  13. Haha! Great to hear to hear that, EmergencyRN! I'm starting nursing school this January. I look forward to all the attention from the ladies, but most of all, the extra attention and notice from the teachers, haha. Hopefully gettin Letters of rec. will be piece of cake bc of that. AAAh i love being in the healthcare environment so much. There are many beautiful womens in the hospital and especially in my current class of like 85 students. I think i am going to die from excitement! -Mojo
  14. what does that have to do with the original topic.
  15. YES! I want to be a CRNA. The money a CRNA makes is very appealing. But I start nursing school in the spring and ill take it one step at a time. At the moment, critical care interests me. The only thing I worry about CRNA is market saturation and everybody else wanting to be one. Many have told me they want to be a CRNA.
