Hi !
I'm starting this thread to keep communication with other Rio Hondo nursing program applicants (Fall 2019). The deadline to submit a completed application is this Friday 3/8/19, anyone else out there applied yet?

Are you from that area? At least you have 1 down! Can’t wait to meet you at the meeting.
I got accepted to mount st marys BSN program, but tbh it’s hella expensive. Also San Fran state but i don’t want to leave LA. I’m just waiting on LA County nursing program.
Just curious when did you hear back from Mount Saint Mary's because I applied to their Fall 2019 ADN program. Thanks!

Did you take their required READING Assessment at Rio Hondo? If not, your application may be denied. I know that sounds heartbreaking but they made it a point to tell me when I applied last year or applicants will be denied regardless how great your stats are.
If you did take the mandatory Reading Assessment I would call them on Monday and follow up on your application status.

Congratulations on getting in to CSULA! What the process difficult? I missed the deadline so I have to wait until October for open enrollment again. I also heard their TEAS score minimum is 40%. Is that true??

The process actually wasn't all that bad. The deadline just was alot earlier than all other schools. I'm not sure if 40% is the minimum but even if it were I doubt that would be a competitive enough score to get in. I had an 80% on my teas. This year they didn't go by a point system, they said they did a full comprehensive review of all applicants. I think this worked in my favor because I have a bad transcript from like 5 years ago that brought my cumulative gpa from a 4.0 to a 2.9 so my points in that area wouldnt have been so high. . . but definitely apply! They accept 70ppl a year apposed to what most schools take (about 40) so your chances are a bit better. I wish you all the best ?

I heard back April 4th but I got accepted to the BSN program. I would call admissions and check in with them since they already had an admissions day.

I did everything at Rio including my assessment and all my prerequisites and science. I even too my TEAS there, so no I dont think it's because of that, I just haven't heard anything no rejection email or acceptance letter has came.

I was accepted as an alternate but it doesn't show my place in list... Anybody know how many alternates Rio Hondo takes? I currently live in SF and I plan on coming to both mandatory meetings..
Did you get an email or letter informing you of your status?

Yes hopefully tomorrow! I’ve been living in the sd area for a while now but my hometown is LA!
Im hoping to hear back from cal state San Marcos and some other ADN programs in San Diego soon. But I’m so happy to have gotten the acceptance at rio! I like that they have the agreement with cal state la for the ADN-BSN concurrent enrollment.
Congrats on your other acceptance!! That’s exciting! You got some options now ?
I’m super excited to meet you and everyone else on the 19th too!!
