Hi !
I'm starting this thread to keep communication with other Rio Hondo nursing program applicants (Fall 2019). The deadline to submit a completed application is this Friday 3/8/19, anyone else out there applied yet?

Hi! I applied for for their LVN-ADN program at MSMU and the deadline was April 1st. I'm hoping to hear back from them by June. Out of curiosity were you able to ask what the total cost was for the BSN program?
Congratulations on getting in at Rio Hondo!

Oh I see! I thought you applied to the traditional BSN program. I’d have to check my financial aid package but I believe it was 42k/year. I’d have to double check tho. Thank you!

Is this fire safety card a new thing at RHC? Is it required for other programs /classes? I graduated years ago with a Fire Technology degree but wondering what this class /card is and if I have a certificate that meets this requirement.

I applied to the BSN program. I believe if you have your LVN then it waves 1-2 classes that you'd have to take otherwise. At least that's how it is at CSULB so I assume it's the same at LA (not 100% sure tho).

I'm not entirely sure. I believe it's a certification card that healthcare professionals need to have before they work at any hospitals. So for us, it's required before we start clinicals. The card I have is blue and it's the one that expires in 4 years and she told me that's the one they are looking for.
I would just bring in what you have to the meeting on Friday and ask her if it meets their requirement!
Hello Everyone!
I was accepted to Rio for the Spring 2019 semester & just finished the final for nursing fundamentals!
Congrats to everyone who got accepted and to those who are waitlisted, don't give up! My class actually accepted a few alternates.
Good luck, and hope to meet you guys when we join cohorts in the Fall semester!
Current Rio Hondo student here, congratulations to those that have made it in!!! I was in your shoes not too long ago in fundamentals, and I'm sure I'll be seeing you guys in the Fall ?
I remember how helpful it was to have nursing students to give some tips and advice, so I'll leave my email here:

Lastly, I wish you all have a great and fantastic semester! Best of luck!!
