Los Angeles County School of Nursing and Allied Health - Fall 2019
Just to clarify, not everyone quit their job in first semester, I know 6 students not including myself that were able to manage work & school. I’m going to 2nd this Spring....Now I’m not saying it was easy, it’s exhausting but it’s doable. I would take every comment on here w/a grain of salt. You guys got in for a reason....remember that when you’re unsure doubting yourself. It’s easy to get in a negative mindset or increase your own anxiety when you’re stressed or overwhelmed w/this program.... but yeah do-able ya’ll. Definitely dropping my work hrs for 2nd tho.

Hey guys! I’m a current 1st semester student. I’m sure you guys went through the interview already. Just wanted to say good luck to everyone. They usually take 50 students per cohort, no alternates, but they do take into consideration any students that are remediating or took a leave for the semester. My advice: save money, be in a good mental state, have a strong support system. (They stress this a lot because it can get intense). Get rid of any bad habits, if you’re a person who’s late to places, work on that. Get your family & significant others on board....there will be days when you won’t see your family/bf’s/gf’s. Keep in mind that the process doesn’t stop just when you get accepted. You’re going to have to put in a lot of work. You will cry, you will lose sleep, lol & it’s ok. Shake it off & get back to it. Eat healthy!!!! Exercise. If you don’t have something you do to de stress, find something. Everyone at school wants you to succeed. The instructors & students on campus are supportive. Everyone is willing to help, just ask for help. Good luck guys!

Yo give them some time. I haven’t received any formal letter of acceptance in the mail either, just an email stating I was accepted. Before even receiving an email to schedule your live scan you need to fill out the on-line form for county, the school emails you the link after you accepted... once you fill it out & submit successfully you wait until further notice. I believe the county hosp. has to approve first then Erika will email you about scheduling a live scan. It’s a process & takes time. I submitted the online form but now I’m waiting to hear back. Just relax. I doubt they’ll be sending any official formal acceptance letter in the mail.....take the email acceptance for what it is & move from there.
