hi, as you all know i am a recent graduate and recenty passed nclex pn. you would thinl that this will be the best news in the world for people fot me it isn't because of my recent mostake that had nothing to do with nursing i am being denied a license. i am so upset i feel that i wenr through all of this hard work for nothing.i am not a bad person i just went through some tough times. i felt that once i showed what i am capable of and that i'm nit this bad person that i am protrayed to be that i would have gotten my license but i didn't i am just so upset.:o

Im so sorry! Why are they denying your license??

You might want to try talking to the Board to see what you can do about the situation. A coworker's brother was in jail for drug-dealing. After he got out out, he got himself together and went through a radiology program. After getting a bunch of people to vouch for his character, he was able to work. Unfortunately, I don't know everything that he had to do so he could work. Bottomline, he has had no problem finding jobs since.

i am sorry you are having such a hard time. what did the BON say to you? did they give you any guidelines that you need to fulfill to recieve a license? i wish you well and please keep us updated.

well basically they told me that since i have 3 years probation that my criminal case is considered pending. and that i would have to wait till i serve my time before i can get my license. this is so upsetting because all i ever wanted was to become a nurse i worked so hard in school and also passed my boards 2 weeks from graduating nursing school and now i would have to wait until the boards feel that i am in good moral character even though the judge granted me a certificate of relief from disabilities but i guess it wasn't enough:o

scooby i feel your pain....

I hope it gets better for you.

Did you report this when asked on your lisence application??

the question was were you ever convicted of a crime and i answered yes then i wrote a letter stating what happened and what was my charge. so they knew, but i am so upset that they still didn't approve my license

I am sorry this happened to you. I have a couple of friends who in their past have made the wrong decisions and well it cost them trouble too. One friend was charged and convicted of shoplifting from a mall. The other friend was charged and convicted of phone harassment. They reported it to director of nursing because they did tell us that the board of nursing may deny licensure. The friend with the shoplifting on her record was granted licensure but she had to find an employer willing to hire her. The other friend had no problem.

I would appeal the board's decision and talk with a lawyer. It may be beneficial to have previous employers, school faculty or even classmates go with you before the board to vouch for your character now and why you would be an asset to nursing.

I know you are discouraged right now but there is still hope that you will be granted licensure, you just have to fight back! Good luck!!!

thanks for the advice i am getting more reference letters now to send to the investigator who is in charge of my case.:madface:what kills me is that i have a certificate of relief from disabilities and what this saids is that i am nit to be barred from licensure ir employment but they still don't seem to care. all they see is petit larceny.
