Rejected A Nursing License

hi, as you all know i am a recent graduate and recenty passed nclex pn. you would thinl that this will be the best news in the world for people fot me it isn't because of my recent mostake that had nothing to do with nursing i am being denied a license. i am so upset i feel that i wenr through all of this hard work for nothing.i am not a bad person i just went through some tough times. i felt that once i showed what i am capable of and that i'm nit this bad person that i am protrayed to be that i would have gotten my license but i didn't i am just so upset.:o

I can totally understand your frustration, having slaved through nursing school then boards only to be told you will not be granted licensure. That would be too much for anybody to handle! I understand the board of nursing has to worry about the image and professionalism of nursing but people do make mistakes and people can and do change.

You are not the first to make a mistake and you will certainly not be the last! I am sure once they see how serious you are about becoming a licensed nurse and you have the recommendations from people in the community that can vouch for your character they will reconsider.

It is a shame you have to go through all of this especially since you have the certificate of relief, but nothing worth having is going to be easy. Stay positive and be persistent and you should have your license in no time!

You need to contact a lawyer asap. Perhaps they can get it sealed or explain to the courts you've moved on and your trying to do whats right in life....they should understand.

i do have a lawyer but the problem is that i have 3 years probation that i haven't even started yet.but this was the reason the lawyer asked the judge to grant me the certificate if relief from disabilities.

thety are telling me that they need to verify my good moral chatacter before they can issue me a license.so there is hope. thanks for the info.;)

The school should have helped you with this before you invested the time in the program. I admire you trying to make a positive change and hope this situation will resolve.

When I appled I was also rejected. I did the same thing you did, I wrote a letter of explanation, of course my case was a misdeamor and it was 7 years old. So mt denial was up lifted and I was approved, but of course they had to basically give me the whole huraah about how we as nurses have to act in a diffrent way than the general public...blah blah blah, but of course they was correct. My son's grandmother is a RN and she has a girlfrienfd that had a felony attempted murder charge and she is a liscensed RN now. Get a laywer.
