We are in the process of building a new school and I've been told to start putting together a list of things that will need to be purchased for my office. I will be able to get 3 new couches. What are your must have features? Is there a type or brand or supplier you like? I know I want an adjustable head rest. Are storage drawers a good idea or is it just as effective to shove a tote underneath?

I have plain cots with no storage. I would think it'd be better not to have storage built in. What if you needed to get stuff out of them but a student was resting? I have no firm opinions on this.

I'd say no to storage underneath. We used to have a bed that raised and lowered. I was in love with that thing. It was great for caths, dressing changes, and a multitude of things. Then another school needed it (it had been purchased through the district, so it went to whatever school needed it the most). I really miss that, and if you have any opportunity to get one of those, I would in a heartbeat!

i have cots with no drawers - they suit me well. I agree about the coverlet cabinet. It is great!!
I picked up one of these things for the purposes of keeping my desk clear and pre-filing and assigned one grade per drawer. I loooove it. it brings me untold happiness in organization.

I have that exact rainbow drawer thingie at home. I use it to organize my make-up. I'm horrible.
Anyway, back on topic: I have two real twin beds and I hate them because they students love them so much.
My last position I had this: Adjustable Headrest Couch - Chrome Steel Legs
Adjustable headrest is nice for my heartburn and asthma kiddies. Forget the giant roll of paper. I just wiped it down after each kiddio. Currently, I have stretcher sheets which are like giant chux's to put over my beds that have regular sheets on them and white disposable pillow cases.

I would do totes as opposed to a built-in storage unit, you never know when you will get a kiddo that requires a Hoyer lift and it would be impossible to get it under the bed where it needs to be with the built-in's.
But it might be helpful to have a floor to ceiling shelf with racks in your bathroom where its out of the way and you can put clothes or other supplies on it.
