Hello all,
I am a BSN graduate from the Philippines, and an RN there and in New York.
I'm sure you guys know that international BSN graduates has not been getting through the California BRN since year 2010, because of the issue that foreign graduates (esp. from the Philippines) lack units during our college / Nursing years. This said, I know zero of my colleagues who applied to take the NCLEX got their ATT, since o'10.
I recently applied to have my license in New York endorsed to California, and noted that one requirement they had is that I must provide my college transcripts from where I graduated (again, in the Philippines).
I am currently in CA, but I am thinking to just move to New York, if I am only waiting for my application to get rejected because I lack units, or cases/caseloads.
I'm looking for someone with the same case I am in, or who was in the same case.. Please help me, should I just go to New York? :(
Thank you for your reply steppybay.Yes, my school sent CA BRN the Clinical Cases and the Academic Calendar, exactly what they were asking, twice. I don't know what's really going on with my application.
It could just that the CA BRN staffers are swamped with applications and just haven't had a chance to go thru your transcripts yet.
Do you know with again 100% assurance that you took ALL your cases and courses and clinicals within the same semester period and not weeks before or after or 1-2 years after prior to graduation?
If you did then, you're probably good to get approved but if just one of the cases or courses or deliveries are not done concurrently, then you'll be in the same situation that has been troubling the several thousands of other PH applicants.
Do you know if any of your batchmates from the same year of your graduation and took ALL the same courses as you did together AND were granted their ATT after the CA BRN strict enforcement date of Nov. 2011?
Keep us posted on your venture and good luck!

Hi steppybay, I just received the letter yesterday from my Evaluator and determined that my nursing education is deficient in MS and OB. To meet this requirement, I have to take both theory and clinical. I'm on a search now of school, from the list they gave me, where can I enroll for this subjects.
As of this moment, I really don't know anybody in our batch that were granted ATT after this strict enforcement.
I heard one from the later batch from my school also had the same problem and went to school for 6 months here in CA, I really don't know the details on that, but right now, I'll just gonna do more research and will let everybody know here who have the same problem as mine.
Hi isyelmui100, if you passes NCLEX-RN in CA, aren't you supposed to have CA-RN license already before you had it endorsed in NY? I'm sorry, I'm just confused.
Not if they did not have a valid SSN. Then they transferred their NCLEX passing score to NY but were never issued a CA RN license to endorse. At one point you could take the exam without a SSN but not get a license until you provided a SSN.
I got the same problem.. I am currently holding RN license in Illinois (also an RN in the Phil) but I am here in Cali. I applied for endorsement here in Cali last Feb 2015 and got a letter this week requiring my school to send my clinical cases (actual, assisted deliveries, cord dress, major and minir surgeries) and as well as the academic calendar. My problem is my school doesn't have a copy of my clinical cases (I graduated March 2009), and I don't know if the PRC keeps the records of our cases because for what I know PRC keeps the records only for 5 years. What's worst, I lost my copy of my cases as well.
Anyone got the same problem? What did your school send to BRN because they have no copy of the cases? Need some advise please...

You're not the first to experience this issue. Do you know with 100% assurance that your school did, in fact, did enclose the record of the clinical cases and academic calendar?
There have been a few whose school did not keep or able to supply them due to their school no longer had them. Many schools had just a 3-4 year retention period and after that, they were discarded or purged.
There are reported cases whereby some had CA job offers and pending their endorsement process were lacking the same required documentation. They were not given a CA RN license or they never replied back.
So when the CA BRN says they are still missing documentation, that could be the reason.
